Snow in Weymouth?......Never!!! but it did happen albeit very briefly! I couldn't believe my eyes when I got up at 8.00 am this morning.....big flakes of snow falling quite heavily, however, it didn't get a chance to settle as the sun started to come out and it was gone. Only in England can we have a snow storm one minute and brilliant sunshine the next!!!

I must apologise to everyone as I've been really busy over the last few days and haven't had a chance to go blog hopping. Besides the usual boring housework stuff, I've actually sorted out alot of my craft supplies including putting my card in colour order, and my paper too. Also sorted out my ribbons and some embellishments. However, my next job is to sort my brads into colour order which I'm dreading but which will make things alot easier in the long run. I'm hoping to catch up on my blogging over the next couple of days as the boys go back to school tomorrow......yippee!!!

Thought I would have a go at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week as it did seem quite simple and I haven't joined in for a while. Well, a card which I thought was going to take ten minutes turned into forty because I kept changing my mind all the way through!!

The challenge this week is:

"....this week I'd like you to think small - not small cards, but small spaces of embellishment on regular sized cards. You are allowed to cover no more than a 5 x 5 cms area of your card with paper or embellishments - the rest of the card must be left plain. ........because I'm feeling generous, I am going to let you add a SIMPLE greeting as extra to your 5 x 5 allowance :-)......"

This is my attempt......

I've gone for a rectangular card rather than my usual square one and embossed this with the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder (hope this still counts as leaving the card plain????!!!!). I've stamped the Gina K Seafood Surprise stamp and coloured with Brushables and then mounted this onto a scrap piece of Bazzill Bling cardstock which has been cut using my Nestabilities (one of the small ones I might add!!). I then mounted this onto the card with foam pads and stamped the sentiment, also from Gina K, straight onto the card.

Back to sorting and organising now and hope to catch up with you all soon.

That is an adorable card! What a cute image. I love this challenge to keep that "blank" space and shrink your focal point. I never think to make cards like this, but now I want to. So fun.

New England weather is pretty much like what you described for your weather today. We say don't like the weather right now, wait a minute and it'll change! Too funny that you never get snow, but you did in April. It's been crazy like that here all winter. :)

Great card - very effective. We had snow at Easter but none today - and our schools have only just broken up for 2 weeks - so limited crafting for me over the next two weeks :-(

It's Blog Candy Time!

I'VE EDITED THIS MESSAGE SO (HOPEFULLY!) IT WILL REMAIN AT THE TOP OF MY BLOG UNTIL THE COMPETITION IS OVER. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWER POSTS! WILL ALSO BE ADDING PHOTOS OF ENTRIES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE A BLOG. As promised, it's blog candy time. There are three reasons for me doing this. (1) My counter has passed 16,000 hits - wow! can't believe that! and I would like to say thank you to everyone who visits my blog.....would never have dreamed I would have so many visitors since I began blogging at the beginning of December last year! (2) It's my birthday in just over a week and (3) had some fantastic news - Tony (my husband) is coming home for good!! For those of you who don't know, Tony has been working in Australia for the past 15 months and we have only seen him twice in that time.....the last time being at the beginning of October last year! He should be home within a matter of weeks - he's given me the date of 10 June but

Fancy a Magnolia?

Firstly, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has visited my blog over the last six weeks. It's amazing, I really didn't think I would get so many hits when I started out. It really is appreciated. Now to the blog candy......I've thought long and hard about this and decided to do something a little bit different. The reason being, I think even though we enjoy making cards, we're all so busy with birthdays, challenges, and everyday life, so I thought I'd make it simple. I admit to being a bit(?) of a nosey old moo!! so what I would like you to do is send a link to a photo of your craft space. Don't worry how tidy(?)/untidy, small, big, whatever, your space is. Could be a room (I'd kill for one!), a corner of a room (like mine!), a dining room table. It doesn't matter, just add a comment with a link to your blog and if you haven't got a blog, then e-mail me a photo (my e-mail link is in my Profile). Just to get you started, here's my space

A Quick Magnolia!

This is going to be a very quick posting as I've been suffering from toothache on and off since Friday evening and it is now unbearable. I do have an appointment with the Dentist tomorrow so if I can just get through tonight I'll be OK! Don't really feel like listing all the details for this one, so if you have any questions, just ask.
