Happy Halloween

Finally managed to finish our Halloween goodies....I've got two very excited boys, however, need to get the decorations out of the loft and carve the pumpkins and then we're ready to go. In the meantime, here's a glimpse of the things I've had to make over the last couple of days (lastminute.com again!). Sorry about the photos but my desk is absolutely overflowing and I just didn't have the room to clear it. Firstly, this is a card and gift bag I made for Lewis's friend Shamika who is hosting a Halloween party tonight. Both images and sentiments are CC Designs from the Ollie and Griselda collection. Papers are the free download I mentioned in my previous posting. Here are a couple of gift bags I made last night for the boys and a very last minute bag (at bottom of picture) for one of Lewis's friends who will unexpectedly be staying with us tonight! The little vampire and "Boo" sentiment are CC Designs Spooks, Spooks, Spooks set and the Mummy is Sug...

A Girlie Card For A Change!

Thought I'd take a break from showing the boys' cards I've made and show you a few simple girlie cards I made while my brother was laying my new floor. No embellishments at all on these, just paper, sewing, image and sentiment and a teeny weeny bit of distressing. The image is Manga Girl #2 from Sugar Nellie and papers are scraps. Not sure what make the sentiments are as I've had them for ages! Seeing Jose again today - this time she's visiting us and we're off to Abbotsbury Farm. Have a great day!

A Card Without Stitching!

I was hoping that this card would have stitching on it....well that was the idea but unfortunately my sewing machine had other plans! Let's put it this way - it's out of action at the moment and that could possibly be permanently after I've thrown it out of the window! So here's the card I eventually put together without the use of my sewing machine! I've used the little cutie Daisy stamp, coloured with Promarkers and papers from MME Bloom and Grow. Sentiment is Woodware, ribbon and buttons are from my stash and string is from Leann - see, I am using it Leann!

Happy Birthday Jilli!

It's my blogging buddy, Jilli's birthday today and a VERY BIG one it is too pmsl!! God Jilli, wish I was that age again! Happy birthday sweetie and hope you are having/had a great day. Here's the card I made her....... .....and here's the inside..... I used the gorgeous Penpal stamp and coloured with PM's. Cardstock is Bazzill and papers are My Minds Eye which have been distressed and sewn. Don't ask me where I got the stamp sentiment from as I got it years ago - I stamped the top half for the outside of the card and the bottom half for the inside and cut them with my Nesties Labels dies. Flowers and brads are from my stash. I've got big apologies to make now for I haven't done any crafting in a while and I'm way behind on my blogging. I've been extremely busy with my personal life and it looks like I've secured a part-time job - just got to sort out the hours and childminding etc. Still trying to keep up with my college work as well ...

Special Day

I had some more of this wonderful paper left on my desk so thought I would make use of it and put another card together. Used another image from Sugar Nellie, coloured with PM's with some Sakura glitter pen added to the flowers and doodling around the edges, then matted it onto SU cardstock. Used My Mind's Eye double-sided DP and my Fiskars border punch to create the scalloped edge. Layered the sentiment from Cuddly Buddly onto a scalloped circle made with SU punch and attached it to the card with a piece of gold cord. Finally, added a couple of Bazzill brads. Can't believe the weekend is gone already! Lewis is off to London today for five days - I've actually scheduled this post because we have to be up the school at 7.30 am so it will be quite hectic this morning so he will have already left by the time you read this {big tear}. Things are going to be soooo quiet with just me and Sam - guess I'd better make the most of it as it will be back to arguing and quarre...

Green Has Left the Building!

I've finally managed to make a card without using green......or at least not much!! Don't know what came over me recently as I've never made so many green cards in my life! Found this paper in my stash and I love it so made up a very simple card. The image was a RAK from Vanessa which I've coloured with PM's and added some doodling around the edge. I think it's a Sugar Nellie (minus the cat!) but please let me know if I'm wrong. Papers are My Mind's Eye which have been distressed and stitched using my sewing machine. Added a piece of lace to the bottom edge of the patterned paper. Cardstock is SU. Sentiment is Papertrey Ink. Layered some flowers together with a fancy brad from my stash and embellished it with a couple of heart clips which I pulled apart. Finally, added a little star charm which I got from Ebay. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Yet More Green!!

Had an hour to spare yesterday before an appointment, so decided to put a card together to keep my mind occupied. Got all my favourites out for this one - my Daisy stamp (coloured with PM's), My Mind's Eye papers, distressed and sewn and a little charm which I bought from E-bay fixed onto the card with some fibres. Got to do some shopping today as my eldest is off to London on Monday for a week with the school, so must make sure I've got everything for him so we can get him packed at the weekend. Will be back tomorrow with my DT work.

Ismaki Sketch Challenge

It's the first time I've taken part in the Ismaki challenge but really liked the look of the sketch, so thought I would have a go! I've coloured this little cutie with Promarkers (what else?!) and framed her with doodling (again!). Used Basic Grey papers - sorry, can't remember which ones they are as I had all the pads out yesterday! Used my Cuttlebug swirls die and a sentiment from Woodware. Finally, added some sticky gems from Papermania. Off to start cooking the roast dinner now.....enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Daisy's Back (and so is the lace!)

Thought I would have another go with a Daisy image and I'm much happier with this one! This time I've used papers from American Crafts and a little bit of Basic Grey and used my SU punch to round the corners. Added a piece of lace to the side of the darker paper and coloured Daisy with Promarkers and doodled around the edges (which I always seem to smudge!!). Sentiment is from Woodware and flowers are from my stash with a Papermania pearl brad in the centre. Finally, added a little charm which is from E-bay and which you can see better in this photo. I just love these and was determined to fit it on somewhere on the card so attached it with a little bit of ribbon from my stash. Hope you all of a great weekend!

Not Sure About This One!

Monday morning again and was sat here pondering what fun and games this week will bring! Had a great day yesterday, even though I wasn't feeling 100% (managed to get a stinkin' cold from somewhere). The boys had fun with Lewis and Paul while me and Vanessa did plenty of chatting!! We swapped some images and I got my favourite from her - Daisy which I couldn't wait to colour in. In fact, while the boys were in the bath, I coloured her in and put a card together but not completely happy with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with how Daisy has turned out but not sure about the papers I've used. They're Basic Grey Two Scoops. Added some flowers and a couple of sparkly brads but no sentiment at the moment. Just feel that maybe my choice of papers were a bit "busy". Not to worry as I've got plenty more "Daisies" on my desk and will have another go with something less fussy. We had our first little bit of snow this morning and wow, were t...

Happy Birthday Jose!

It's my friend, Jose's birthday today - hope you have a lovely day Jose....I won't ask how old lol!! Here's my card I made for her. I've made the base card from red Bazzill c.s. The image is called Picking Apples and it's another one I've had for a while but never used...tut tut!! She's been coloured in the usual way and framed with doodling. Do you recognise the paper hee! hee! with more distressing and sewing. Sentiment is from SU and rounded the edges with an SU punch. Flowers and button are from my stash. I've added a piece of Creative Smooth c.s. to the inside of the card - the sentiment is Elzybells and the flower stamp is Studio G, then joined it together with more doodling . Off to tackle some college work....oh, I'm so fed up with spreadsheets!!

Pen Pal

Now it's the turn of the teal and chocolate colour scheme again!! As I mentioned before, I've made a few cards recently with these papers so I'm alternating them for postings so it's not too monotonous!! The image is called Pen Pal and is coloured with Promarkers (what else!!) with more doodling around the edges to frame it. Papers are.......yes, you've guessed it, My Minds Eye and brown c.s. is Bazzill. Sentiment is from Whiff of Joy and have distressed the edges with more dodgy stitching!! Buttons are from my stash. Having yet more personal problems at the moment....will they ever stop! so sorry the posting is so short.

Found a Bargain!

We had some more sad news in Weymouth....I don't know if you were aware but there used to be three crafting outlets in our small town - Craft Central, a lovely little craft shop at a place called Brewers Quay and a craft shop in our main post office in town. Well the shop at Brewers Quay closed down a little while ago and a few weeks back Craft Central closed as well (apparently, it's gone into liquidation). Now our Post Office is in the hands of an Administrator......can you believe it! The good thing to come from this is they had a closing down sale - everything half price! Because I've been so good and haven't bought anything in a VERY long while and have managed to sell alot of my stamps I don't use, treated myself to my favourite papers and card....My Minds Eye and Bazzill, so be warned, you will be seeing alot of this paper and just to prove my point, here's one I made earlier lol!!! I'm back using my sewing machine again, however, please don't loo...

Stamp Something Spooky!

Happy Halloween to everyone! I've got two very excited boys who can't wait to dress up and are going to a Halloween Party this afternoon. That will mean I'll have a couple of hours to myself but unfortunately, have to pop into town to tax my car - yes, it passed its MoT, thank goodness!! Well, it may be Halloween but it's also Friday which means another challenge on Stamp Something and, of course, it had to be something spooky! For the card, I've used an image from Sugar Nellie and coloured it with Promarkers, which took all of five seconds!!!! The papers are a free download, as is the sentiment. Cardstock is Bazzill. Bat brad is Karen Foster and other brads are from my stash. The bags were made from a Digital Download which was just folded in half and attached to the bag of chocolate eyeballs. I've kept it very simple as I had quite a few to make for all the boys' friends. One more thing to share with you - I made this scrapbook page last year and did load...

Pen Pal

Well, I think Summer is well and truly over!! Torrential rain and strong winds makes you want to stay in and craft. I've been having a busy couple of days trying to sort various paperwork out, telephone calls, etc., but managed to put this card together yesterday. Sorry the photo isn't too good but it's so dark at the moment. This image is called Pen Pal from Sugar Nellie and was a RAK from Vanessa and I've coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are a free download from Summer Driggs (I think that's right!) and they are just so pretty. Used the SU corner rounder punch to make the scalloped edge and added some Papermania sticky gems. The sentiment is another download and I've cut it down a bit and layered it onto some more of the DP which has been cut using my Nestabilities. Must say a big thank you to all of you who have been leaving comments on my blog. I'm feeling a little better and I think the "fighter" in me has emerged! Really hope to get ...

I've Reached The End!!!

Lovely sunny day here in Dorset today.....still extremely windy but no rain, thank goodness. Cannot shift this stinking cold I've caught and finding it difficult to motivate myself as I feel so tired and just to top it all, got a call from Lewis's school to say he was unwell so he was home today......we came home and both had a nap! He feels alot better for it but I could have done with another ten hours!!!! My new camera arrived yesterday.....whoo hoo!!! just got to work out how to use it now! Actually have had a go and managed to work out how to take a photo and upload it but the instruction book is pretty thick (just like me!) and is going to take me ages to work through. Anyway, the main thing is I've managed to photograph the work I did yesterday and the news is.........I'm PIF free!!!! I managed to do seven folders yesterday plus all the bits and have posted them all this afternoon. So to the ladies concerned.....thank you for being patient and they are now on the...
