A Recipe for Stamp Something

This week's challenge on Stamp Something is "Recipes" so, because I had a little gift to give to a friend and needed a card to go with it, I came up with this. Now you're probably thinking "what's that got to do with a recipe?", however, added a little something inside the card...... I got the idea for the recipe from a card I saw on Deb's blog over Christmas - she is such a talented lady and produces fabulous cards.....well worth a visit. Also, I've seen so many beautiful cards where the girls are now decorating the insides, so I thought I would combine the two. The image is Whiff of Joy, Willow with Cocoa, or coffee in this case!! I've coloured her with Promarkers and then just doodled around the edges. Papers are My Minds Eye and brown c.s. is Bazzill. Distressed the edges of the paper and then stitched them onto the card. Sentiment is MFT as are the coffee beans on the inside of the card. Flowers are all from my stash and for the centre...

Still Rolling!!

I bet you thought you got away with seeing more Christmas cards after my posting yesterday for Stamp Something........WRONG!!!! Here's a couple for you to start the day off and I'll have more for you later in the day lol!! Stamps: Penny Black, Stampin Up Colouring: Promarkers Card: Bazzill Extras: Poppicrafts, Bazzill, Papermania, Glamour Dust, Scor-pal Stamps: High Hopes Colouring: Promarkers Papers: Miscellaneous (that means I can't remember!) Extras: Glamour Dust Will be back later!!

Tilda Take II!!

Thought I would show another Christmas card I made using the same image from my previous posting but this time decided to make her blue!! Stamps: Magnolia, Stampin Up Colouring: Promarkers Papers: Basic Grey Extras: Glamour Dust, Papermania Sticky Gems, Cricut, SU Scallop Border Punch One of the papers I've used is Basic Grey but unfortunately the others don't have the names on the back! Thought Sam was improving but he kept me up last night with earache poor little chap! We're all very tired today as Lewis also had a two night sleepover. Wish I could go to bed now!!!

Blitzen in a Blizzard!

I've finally done it! Not only have I made a Christmas card but I've managed to do one which literally, only takes ten minutes, so one down, 120 to go!!! The card base was layered with red Bazzill c.s. and some white c.s. which I had scored with my Scor-pal at the top and bottom. The image is an Anita's stamp and just added some sparkle to the snowdrops and layered onto red c.s. Added some flowers from Poppicrafts with a red brad from my stash and a few sticky gems from Papermania and Voila!! Must admit, I do like the overall clean cut effect. Off for a quick coffee and then pick the boys up. Have spent the morning doing my Dad's Christmas shopping and I haven't started my own yet!

Catching Up (again!!)

Lovely lie in for all of us today - we don't seem to have had one of those in a while! - so while I'm sat here with my hair in a towel....yes, I've just got out of the shower, thought I would try and catch up with my blogging. Managed to visit some of the blogs last night whilst watching "I'm A Celebrity" (don't know who I dislike the most, Nicola or David!!) and will visit the rest over the next couple of days. I received an award from the talented Zoe a little while ago - thank you so much Zoe and big apologies for not dealing with it sooner. It's so nice to be appreciated even if I have been a bad blogger!! Because I'm so late in posting this, I think most of you have already received it, so I would like to pass it on to all you loyal crafting buddies who have still been visiting me and leaving comments even though I have been AWOL! Next, there's some gorgeous candy up for grabs from Ila - I just love her work and wish I could produce card...

Happy Birthday Jazz!!

Hi all! Sorry about the last post but I was in a real hurry....could you guess?!!!! Anyway, we had a great time bowling and I even ended up a bit tiddly....forgot they had a bar there!!! Tony won all four games - what a surprise!, however, after getting over breaking a nail on my first throw (!!!) I made a good recovery...think the vodka may have helped!!! We enjoyed it so much that we went again yesterday!! Me and Tony had alot of paperwork to sort through in the morning because he's off to Russia on Monday to work so we ploughed through that and spent some quality family time together in the afternoon and evening. Extremely tired today as I didn't get to bed until 3.00 am - think I'm getting too old for late nights like that lol!!! Anyway, on to the card. I was asked to make this one by a good friend of mine - she's a Childminder and one of the kids she looks after is celebrating her birthday today. Jazz is not what you'd call a girly girl, hates pink and love...

Sarah Kay Take II!

Here's another Sarah Kay stamp which hadn't been used I'm ashamed to say so thought I'd better make use of her......she's so pretty! I've coloured her with Promarkers and the DP is from My Minds Eye (this is more like cardstock as it is so thick!). More stitching around the edges!, some flowers from Poppicrafts with some Papermania sticky gems in the centres. The sentiment stamp is from Cats Life Press. Must rush as I've got to take my car to the garage for its MoT - wish me luck!!!!

Something for the Birds

Friday already which means it's time for another Stamp Something challenge and this week it's Something for the Birds. Wasn't sure if I interpreted this one correctly and after a quick scan through my stamps, found this totally cute duck from Penny Black and decided that it was about time I started on my Christmas cards. The image is called Carolling Duck and is from Penny Black and I've coloured him with Promarkers and added some Glamour Dust to his hat. Red c.s. is from Stampin Up and blue c.s. is Bazzill and has been run through with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. DP is Papermania which I won from Jenny . Sentiment is Pink Petticoat, flowers and ribbon are from Poppicrafts and brads are from my stash (Papermania I think!). There's more gorgeous candy on offer again this week so well worth a visit!!

Stamp Something "For a Friend"

That's the challenge on Stamp Something this week and how very appropriate for me. I didn't realise until recently how many caring friends I do have both in the flesh and in blogland and I've also re-discovered my best friend! So this card is for all of my pals out there and is sent with a big hug and MWAH!!!!! The image is Magnolia and was a RAK from Vanessa and I have coloured her with Promarkers (Tilda, not Vanessa!!). DP is Basic Grey and frame around Tilda has been made with mirricard and Bazzill c.s. using one of my oval Nestabilities. Added some doodling around the edges, flowers from my stash, a Papermania brad and Papermania sticky gems. Sentiment is from Autumn Leaves. You must pop over and take a look at all the wonderful creations the other girls on the DT have come up with, plus if you have a go yourself, there's a chance of winning some fantastic blog candy!

Pen Pal

Well, I think Summer is well and truly over!! Torrential rain and strong winds makes you want to stay in and craft. I've been having a busy couple of days trying to sort various paperwork out, telephone calls, etc., but managed to put this card together yesterday. Sorry the photo isn't too good but it's so dark at the moment. This image is called Pen Pal from Sugar Nellie and was a RAK from Vanessa and I've coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are a free download from Summer Driggs (I think that's right!) and they are just so pretty. Used the SU corner rounder punch to make the scalloped edge and added some Papermania sticky gems. The sentiment is another download and I've cut it down a bit and layered it onto some more of the DP which has been cut using my Nestabilities. Must say a big thank you to all of you who have been leaving comments on my blog. I'm feeling a little better and I think the "fighter" in me has emerged! Really hope to get ...

Still Alive & Kicking!!

Hi!! Sorry for the lack of postings but thanks for hanging in there and a HUGE thank you to Dawn because after our chat this morning, she inspired me to get going again and OMG, did she make me laugh!! What colour hair do you have today Dawn?!!!! Thanks also to Jose....you are just so kind to me and the boys :0) Anyway, here's the card I put together today - nothing special, just very simple to get me started. The image is High Hopes, coloured with Promarkers with some doodling around the edges. Papers are Pink Petticoat printed onto lightweight c.s. and the plain blue piece has been put through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly and has been layered onto blue c.s. which was cut with SU scalloped punch and I cut into it to give the flower effect and used a white gel pen to add the dots. Finally, added some Papermania sticky gems. Thanks for looking.

Sweeping Tilda

Here's another folder which I made a couple of weeks ago to send some images and which I haven't shown on my blog yet. The image is Magnolia which I've coloured with Promarkers. Papers are Pink Petticoat printed onto lightweight cardstock and rounded all corners with an SU punch. Used the SU slot punch to attach the organza ribbon which was from my stash and finally, added some sticky gems from Papermania. Same layout as I've used before but finding this to be quite simple and effective. Thanks everyone for bearing with me.......am beginning to get the urge to do some colouring so you never know, might have something new to share with you soon. Hope the weather is a bit better where you are - you would think we were in the middle of winter here.......torrential rain, strong winds and just a bit chilly!!!

A Couple of Folders

Thought I would show a couple of folders I made recently for my friends Jose and Jilli. I needed to send some images and I always find this folder idea from Katharina is so quick and easy to make. Do the colours and papers look familiar? lol!! I actually made this first before I made the card on my last posting and liked the colours so much that I decided to base my last card on it. The image is Magnolia, coloured with Promarkers and a little Glamour Dust on her wings. Papers are Pink Petticoat printed onto lightweight cardstock, and sticky gems are Papermania. Ribbon is from my stash and have used the SU slot punch to attach it to the card. This one is exactly the same but just used a different Magnolia image and different papers from Pink Petticoat and some mirricard for layering. Finally, added Stickles to the bubbles. Must get on with some housework today and guess what?.....the sun has just emerged from behind all the clouds so hopefully might get some washing dry today!!

Pamper Yourself!

The card I'm posting today is for a friend's daughter who has turned 13 today so Happy Birthday Lisa!! I decided on an "older" themed card as she is very grown up for her age and into all the make-up and pampering which us ladies love but never have much time for!!! It looks like I've put this together very crooked, however, it's fine in real life - just must be the angle at which I took the photo! Anyway, I've used Underthehood Bella and coloured her with Promarkers and added a little Glamour Dust to the cupcake. Papers are from Pink Petticoat and cardstock is Bazzill. Sentiment is from MFT and I've punched a scallop (SU), layered the sentiment, then cut into the scallop for the flowery effect. Sticky gems are from Papermania and finally, used SU corner rounder punch for various corners on the card I've now got to walk up to the other end of the village and deliver this as I was late in making it - it's pouring with rain and just to make...

Eloise The Third!

Ok, I'm sorry, it's Eloise again! However, I'd stamped her out a few times and it seemed a shame not to colour her in so here's the finished card and I promise, no more Eloise for a little while! She has been coloured with Promarkers and all papers are Pink Petticoat printed on lightweight cardstock. I've made a scalloped edge on the spotty card (which you can hardly see!!) using my SU corner rounder punch. Ribbon is from Dovecraft, sticky gems are Papermania and sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. Managed to get quite alot done yesterday as all it did here was rain.....was even sat in bed at 8.00 am this morning colouring images while everyone else had a lie in!! However, the sun is out today so must get on with some washing. Have a great day!
