Summer in Winter Challenge

The challenge over on Stamp Something this week is "Summer in Winter" and as soon as I saw this, a lightbulb went on in my head - believe me, that doesn't happen very often!! I knew I had the perfect stamp for this one! The stamp is from High Hopes and I've coloured Santa with Promarkers and added some Glamour Dust to his hat and some of the usual doodling to frame it. Papers are My Minds Eye and have distressed the edges and then came the disaster - my sewing machine packed up, so had to resort to adding faux stitching with my Marvy pen. Sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly and mounted onto Bazzill c.s. cut using SU scallop punch. Brads are from Poppicrafts. Well, there we have it - my first Christmas card completed for 2009!! Off to take a look at the other DT Members' creations now.

Happy Birthday Lewis!

My eldest Son is 11 today whoo hoo!!!!! To be honest with you, wasn't sure if he was going to make it as I have come close to strangling him this week!!! Was he excited or what!!! Anyway, we got up early to open his presents and he's extremely happy because he got his mobile phone so he's gone off to school with a big smile on his face! I still have Sam home so we are just baking Lewis's birthday cake. Thought I would share the cards I made for Lewis. The first one is from Sam........ ......and this one is from me and Tony........ Two more stamps I've had for a while but have never inked up!! The images are High Hopes and have been coloured with Promarkers. Papers are Basic Grey, sentiment is also High Hopes. The large blue brads in the top card are from Poppicrafts and the green clip (which says "laugh" on it) is Making Memories. For the bottom card I used some giant eyelets from SU, ribbon, stickers, rub-ons and plastic tags all from my stash. Finally...

Blitzen in a Blizzard!

I've finally done it! Not only have I made a Christmas card but I've managed to do one which literally, only takes ten minutes, so one down, 120 to go!!! The card base was layered with red Bazzill c.s. and some white c.s. which I had scored with my Scor-pal at the top and bottom. The image is an Anita's stamp and just added some sparkle to the snowdrops and layered onto red c.s. Added some flowers from Poppicrafts with a red brad from my stash and a few sticky gems from Papermania and Voila!! Must admit, I do like the overall clean cut effect. Off for a quick coffee and then pick the boys up. Have spent the morning doing my Dad's Christmas shopping and I haven't started my own yet!

Simple Somethings

I can't believe it's Friday already - where has the week gone? Seem to have had so much to do this week and no time for crafting. Did manage to go to the Bonfire Night celebrations on Weymouth Beach on Wednesday and took the kids to the funfair and had a great time. Have also been busy with my college work and yet again, I'm behind with my blogging - slap wrists!! Back to business - the challenge on Stamp Something this week is to keep it simple - one layer of cardstock. Well, my cards are always simple (bit like me lol!) but I do like my layers so I have cheated just a little by layering the image, however, there is only one sheet of c.s. on the actual card - must be a first for me! (Oops, have just checked out the other DT Members' creations whilst writing this and think I've cheated big time - sorry!) The image is from Spiral Whisper and has been coloured with Promarkers with Glamour Dust added to her hat and sleeves (yes, it's a she!). The sentiment is part...

Sarah Kay Take II!

Here's another Sarah Kay stamp which hadn't been used I'm ashamed to say so thought I'd better make use of her......she's so pretty! I've coloured her with Promarkers and the DP is from My Minds Eye (this is more like cardstock as it is so thick!). More stitching around the edges!, some flowers from Poppicrafts with some Papermania sticky gems in the centres. The sentiment stamp is from Cats Life Press. Must rush as I've got to take my car to the garage for its MoT - wish me luck!!!!

Something for the Birds

Friday already which means it's time for another Stamp Something challenge and this week it's Something for the Birds. Wasn't sure if I interpreted this one correctly and after a quick scan through my stamps, found this totally cute duck from Penny Black and decided that it was about time I started on my Christmas cards. The image is called Carolling Duck and is from Penny Black and I've coloured him with Promarkers and added some Glamour Dust to his hat. Red c.s. is from Stampin Up and blue c.s. is Bazzill and has been run through with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. DP is Papermania which I won from Jenny . Sentiment is Pink Petticoat, flowers and ribbon are from Poppicrafts and brads are from my stash (Papermania I think!). There's more gorgeous candy on offer again this week so well worth a visit!!
