More Pretty Storage

These are the final two boxes I have recently made.  The Home box is made of MDF and comes flat packed and bare.  It's a great size - approx 11" square and I added some acetate inside the lid to ensure nothing escapes through the cut out letters.  Apologies for the bad photographs but the light was really bad, however, feel the first photo shows the true colour.  I am not a 'green' person but I absolutely love this shade of paint. This second box was a flat packed kit I've had for a while in chipboard.  A little harder to work with as it does have a tendency to warp a little when wet medium is added.  Kept it very simply decorated as it will be stacked on my desk as I'm storing my paint pens in it.

M is for Mandy!

This is the present and card I made for my Sister's birthday.  The plaque is from Anna Marie Designs and I have actually bought myself one (or two!) but haven't got around to decorating it yet.  The card is a design I've used before but I love it so chose to use it again for Mandy.

Tongue in Cheek Anniversary Card!

When I saw these stamps, knew exactly what I wanted to do with them and surprisingly, the card turned out just as I had planned! The background was made with Distress Inks, ghosting, stencils and stamps and then stamped and heat embossed the main images.  The sentiment was computer generated. The card is for my Sister and Brother-in-Law who I hope will have a chuckle when they see it!

Valentine's Birthday

The Valentine's baby in our family turns 40 today (my Niece) so this is the card I made for her together with a little gift to go with her main present, just to remind her how old she is!

Craft Room Storage

Thought I'd share some of my craft storage which I made a little while ago but forgot to photograph!  They all come from Stamps Away, flat packed and bare MDF but assemble beautifully and take all types of medium well.  In all three cases, I have used chalky paint and pretty papers with some chalkboard stickers added to the small crates in the first unit. Unfortunately, the top shelf bowed a little on this unit mainly due to the fact that I piled too much stuff on it, so it now has something lighter resting on it!

Filing Box

Saw this project from AMD recently and loved it so much, I just had to replicate it.  It comes flat packed in bare MDF but is such good quality, it goes together like a dream and takes different mediums brilliantly.

Silver Wedding Anniversary

This is another card I was asked to make with quite specific requirements such as the colour, no flowers, heart shape in the centre, etc.  Took me a while to decide on the finished layout as I love to add embellishments but had to sit on my hands this time!  Also made a box for the card and again, kept it simple with the plain white heart which was intended to add the names of the couple.

How Old Would You Be?

Another card requested by a different friend of mine who I know doesn't like fussy cards, also it was for a man so resorted to my trusty stamp from Penny Black!

LOTV Fairy

I was asked to make a card for a friend's Granddaughter who will shortly be turning two and who loves to dance...especially ballet so this LOTV image fitted perfectly.

Tilda Sewing House Kit

Three posts today...what is happening?! Now, this project really was a labour of love!  I didn't realise how  long it would take me mainly due to the amount of hand sewing involved...not my favourite hobby and a little bit rough around the edges!  Anyway, I persevered while I was off sick (as I couldn't do much else).

Gingerbread Men (and Girls) Garlands!

The final kit from The Hobby House - gingerbread garlands...I love this style!  Unfortunately, they didn't make it for Christmas so have been carefully wrapped awaiting this December!

Gingerbread House Gift Boxes

I made a similar design of these last year in the form of birdhouses.  This time they are gingerbread houses decorated ever so slightly differently - can you spot the difference?! The bow unties so the roof opens and you can put whatever gift you like inside such as small cards, gingerbread biscuits, candles etc.

Cookie Gift Card Box

This was another simple project I saw demonstrated although unfortunately, I didn't have a large cookie for demonstration purposes...they don't last long in our house!  Alternatively, you can change the image and use any small gift in the drawer such as tea lights etc.

A Different Kind of Card

I saw this card demonstrated on C & C using the Hobby House kit and thought what a great idea for a little gift for someone.  Doesn't have to be just candles, any small gift can be used. The main image is forms a shaker card and is full of glitter and sequins and inside besides the tea lights, there is a small pocket with a gift tag.

The Final Three!

These are the last cards of the Christmas Hobby House kits - same papers and images, just slightly different layouts.

They Just Don't Stop Coming!

I never realised how many cards I had made from these kits until I had to photograph them and load them on here!

Hobby House Christmas Continued!

More from the Hobby House Christmas kits and yet more to come!
