Favourite Somethings

The challenge on Stamp Something this week is "favourites". This could be your favourite stamp, theme, papers, etc., so I chose to use my favourite layout. When I'm stuck on a card I always tend to revert to this layout as I love its simplicity. I was asked by a friend if I could make an engagement card for her so thought I would combine it with this week's challenge. The image is Fluffles in Love from Stampendous and I've coloured it with PM's and used my Sakura glitter pen on the bows. Added a Woodware sentiment just below the image and doodled around the edges to create a border. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling but I'm afraid I don't know the make of the DP - I've had it for ages. Matted the top layer with foam pads and used SU slot punch to attach the ribbon from my stash. Used the Fiskars border punch on the bottom of the DP and the SU corner rounder. Finally, added some Prima flowers and some Papermania sticky hearts to the centres. Back to norm...

Aren't I A Lucky Girl!!

Sorry I couldn't do my posting yesterday but I did try! I sat down to edit the photos to load them on and my PSP wouldn't load properly for some bizarre reason. Anyway, it's all sorted now so here we go.....got lots to show - not from me but from all you kind people out there! I'll start with the card I made recently for yet another kids birthday party lol! Wasn't that pleased with this one as it was VERY rushed and usually, when I'm not happy with a card, I will throw it to one side and start again but I really didn't have time with this one so had to settle for this. The image is Stampendous (just love those cheeky monkies!) and I've coloured it with Brushables, c.s. is Bazzill, DP is Doodlebug, sentiment is from High Hopes and brads and ribbon are from my stash. Crikey, that was quick!!! Look what I won recently! Jenny at Stamping Moments held a blog candy competition recently and I couldn't believe it when I won! It felt like Christmas opening u...

Party Bags!

As I explained in a previous post, I'm slowly catching up with my crafting and postings so thought that as it is the day of Sam's party, would show you the little treat bags I made for the kids. The design of these came from Claudia's blog candy competition, however, I wasn't able to enter it at the time because of my computer dying on me but when I saw her tutorial, knew these would be ideal to take to the party!! I've used the same Daisy Bucket double sided paper I used for the invitations with the cheeky Changito stamp (coloured with Brushables), Nestabilities, Bazzill c.s., Doodlebug ribbon and MFT sentiment. Sam had a fantastic day yesterday and was so pleased with his room! so thought I would share a couple of photos with you. The first is of him in his "refurbished" bedroom! and this is a close up of Mr Nonsense! My friend Lee drew this and then painted it straight on the wall - something I could never do - then I just had to outline it yesterday. ...

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

As promised, I'm back with some cards to show you. It's a busy day for me today so this may seem a bit rushed! The challenge on CCT this week is...... "Planes, trains and automobiles...but of course, we wouldn't restrict you to just those vehicles, absolutely any mode of transport is allowed!....." I think I may have got a bit carried away with this challenge as I've done three cards! I probably would have done more but time caught up with me. Anyway, when I looked at the finished cards, I realised I've made them in my favourite colours - red and teal/turquoise!! It wasn't intentional....it's just funny how I'm drawn to those colours. I must admit, it was a bit weird making Christmas cards in April.....must have been the snow at the weekend getting me in the mood!! For this card, I used Pink Petticoat designs printed onto lightweight c.s., with the plain piece embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder. The image is Christmas Rid...

They're Coming To Take It Away Ha! Ha!

Well today will be an interesting day. Before Christmas I had to call the TV Engineer in because we were getting lines down the picture on our TV. He knew what it was as soon as he saw it and because it's covered by insurance (thank God!) we had to wait to find out what the insurance company would decide - either replace it with a brand new TV (yes please!) or take it away and repair it. Well you can guess what the decision was...... take it away for repairs. Only trouble is, they keep it for about ten days and don't provide us with a replacement. I have a teeny weeny portable in my bedroom which we can use but bear in mind that the one which is broken is a 39" flat screen plasma...... you get the idea! Just a slight difference PLUS no Sky! It won't bother me as I don't watch a great deal of TV however, it will be interesting to see what effect it will have on the boys. I know they probably watch too much TV but sometimes, it just makes things a bit easier for me -...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good night last night and that there aren't too many bad heads today! It was a quiet night for me and I was in bed before Midnight, however, I didn't miss it because the fireworks and the boat horns woke me up (we are VERY near to the water!!). Didn't feel like making a big fuss of it this year as Tony wasn't here and it was also our anniversary - we met fourteen years ago on New Year's Eve. Anyway, in a better mood today and what a busy morning I've had. Woke up to a beautiful sunny day - what a great start to the year! Have done the washing, taken all the decorations down (yippee!!) and totally spring cleaned the conservatory where the majority of decorations and toys were. You would have smiled if you had seen me - cleaning windows and hoovering with Abba (yes, Abba!!) playing full blast on the stereo! Thought I'd share this card with you - it's similar to the others I've been loading over the last coupl...

Food for Thought!

This week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is: "Food for thought! Please use something yummy on your cards! Any food will do! Chocs, sweets, cakes, dinners (?!?)......" Managed to cook up (!) two cards this week. The first is using that cheeky puss Fluffles and I imagine this is how I will look by the end of Christmas Day!! Coloured him with Brushables with a little glitter on the cake, and mounted on Bazzill c.s. and some mirriboard, Fixed him on the card with foam pads. Papers are Pink Petticoat, ribbon is Dovecraft, sentiment is a rubber stamp and brads are some odd ones I had in my craft box. The second card is a Penny Black stamp coloured again with Brushables and a little glitter for the ice-cream. The image is punched out with a Woodware punch and fixed to a layer of pink Bazzill c.s. which has been punched with a scalloped punch. Papermania sticky jewels have been added to the edges. I printed a Pink Petticoat design straight onto card and mounted the image onto this ...

Cheeky Monkies!

Hi and what another horrible day - weatherwise that is! Thought I would take a break from loading Christmas cards and show a birthday card I made recently for my Dad to give to my son. I just love these cheeky chappies!
