Snow in Weymouth?......Never!!! but it did happen albeit very briefly! I couldn't believe my eyes when I got up at 8.00 am this morning.....big flakes of snow falling quite heavily, however, it didn't get a chance to settle as the sun started to come out and it was gone. Only in England can we have a snow storm one minute and brilliant sunshine the next!!! I must apologise to everyone as I've been really busy over the last few days and haven't had a chance to go blog hopping. Besides the usual boring housework stuff, I've actually sorted out alot of my craft supplies including putting my card in colour order, and my paper too. Also sorted out my ribbons and some embellishments. However, my next job is to sort my brads into colour order which I'm dreading but which will make things alot easier in the long run. I'm hoping to catch up on my blogging over the next couple of days as the boys go back to school tomorrow......yippee!!! Thought I would have a go at ...

Finally got around to completing the DCM challenge for this week, it is: "....this week we decided on a colour combination for a change. We want you to design a card using only red and white on your cards....." Papers are from Pink Petticoat, ribbon is from Dovecraft and Papermania sticky gems were also used. The image and sentiment are from Pink Cat Studio and was coloured with Marvy with a little Stickles added to the flower on her hat. Back to work now to try and catch up with the other challenges!

The challenge on DCM this week is: "....I would like you to utilise some plain old aluminium foil from your kitchen. You can scrunch it, die cut it, emboss it, ink it, coil it, cover chipboard - or anything else that you choose!....." Took me a while to think up something for this one as I wanted the foil to be as subtle as possible! This is my contribution: I started by covering the card with red Bazzill c.s. and then layered some DP from Bo Bunny. Then I added two strips of Bazzill c.s. in light blue and red to the bottom of the card, the red piece having been run through my Bigshot with the Cuttlebug circle flowers embossing folder. I stamped Tilda and her watering can and coloured with Brushables and added a little glitter dust to her wings. This was then layered onto kitchen foil and light blue Bazzill c.s. and mounted onto the card with foam pads. I then covered a slide (is that what you call them?) with more foil and ran it through my Big Shot using the Cuttlebug swirl...

Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week is: "....I want you to create not just one but TWO cards! But wait......there's more! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons, etc., but arranged in a different way for a different occasion...the only thing being different is the wording....." Thought I'd try out one of my new Magnolia stamps for this one and some different Pink Petticoat paper but still blueberry!! Can you spot the difference?!!! For both cards I have used: Magnolia stamp, Papermania navy shimmer cards, Pink Petticoat blueberry papers, Bazzill c.s. Dovecraft ribbon, Papermania white brads, sentiment is free font.

Good morning everybody and what a beautiful morning it is too! The sun is out and the rain has stopped at long last! but most importantly of all, the boys behaved themselves last night! I went up to check on them at 11.30 pm and to my horror, they were still awake! but they were as quiet as little mice and didn't get out of their beds, so a good night was had by all! The challenge on Daring Cardmakers this week is: "....I would like our cards to celebrate 'New'. So not only New Year, but maybe New Home, New Baby, New Job or maybe a card for someone who is starting a new chapter in their life...." This was quite an easy choice for me as I love making baby cards so I found my old favourite, Penny Black. I stamped it onto white c.s. and coloured with Brushables adding a little Stickles to the daisy. This was then layered onto Pebbles Inc. gingham paper and pale blue Bazzill c.s. with a little piece of "It's A Boy" ribbon. I covered the actual card with ...

Have started to tidy my craft area up bit by bit and found a folder with a load of toppers in it - by that I mean images which I had stamped, coloured and layered but had not made into cards. So, thought I would use one of them for the Daring Cardmakers Challenge. Haven't done this challenge for a little while so thought I would make an effort to get back into the swing of things. The challenge is: "...The four top dares are 'buttons', 'ribbons', 'and cut' and 'frames'. We would like you to use this week as many of those dares as you like to make your card in any theme and any style.." Thought I would use this Penny Black stamp - it seemed ideal for a New Year card bearing in mind the amount of food and booze we have all stuffed over Christmas. Trouble is I'm going to have to think VERY carefully who I give it to otherwise I could end up with a black eye!!!! I've used Pink Petticoat papers printed straight to the card, Bazzill c.s. ...

The challenge on Daring Cardmakers this week is "I dare you to take the design of your card to the inside as well as the outside. Add a little finishing touch to match the theme on the outside, or surprise the receiver with a flap, foldout, decorated journale block to write on, or one of those pop-out delights......." Because of the time of year and the lack of time I have (and as we all have I suspect) to make cards, I've cheated a little on this one by posting a card I made a little while ago for my Dad's 80th Birthday. Hope this is OK. It's a concertina card. The main stamp on the front is Tim Holtz (I think!) which has been triple embossed but doesn't show too well in the photo. The stamps inside the card are from Rubbadubbadoo. I was tempted to use one of my star cards I've already posted but decided on this one because it hasn't been on my blog before!

Wednesday already - where is the time going?! Had a look on the DCM blog and the challenge this week was "...create a card featuring stripes of some kind, the occasion is up to you but you must use some form of stripes on your card.." With all the Christmas cards I've been making lately (and still am!) thought I'd use the Teachers' card I made but with a different paper. The stamp is Penny Black, coloured with Brushables with a little glitter on Santa, the papers are Blonde Moments, sentiment is Pink Petticoat, ribbon is Dovecraft and brads .............. yes, you've guessed it, I can't remember! Hope this fits their requirements as I've never done this challenge before.
