A Recycled Cake Box!

Just popping by to show you something I made very quickly at the weekend. Had a small cake box at home from the supermarket which was remarkably clean so decided to do a quick decorating job on it and turn it into a gift box. I promise the ribbon was straight on it....it's just my non-existent photographic skills which make it look bendy! Used the Whipper Snapper bunny image which I had already coloured and some scrap paper and ribbon and then added some pink shredded paper and scrummy chocolate to the inside! Hope you all had a Happy Easter!

An Easter Bunny!

Firstly, I must apologise for the photos - not only are they poor quality but having real trouble trying to arrange them in the posting! I bought some unpackaged Easter Eggs so needed to make some gift bags to make them look a bit more exciting! Did a bit of recycling and used some Starbucks paper bags I'd held on to and covered them in paper, then stamped my favourite Easter bunny stamp - it's my favourite because it's the only one I've got and it takes hardly any colouring!! - added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and layered it onto Bazzill c.s. and added some doodling, a carrot button, ribbon and various embellishments. Finally, used my SU punch to make the fixings and some raffia to add a finishing touch. I'm planning a very relaxed weekend as I have four days off work - I haven't had a break for a year now (not counting the bank holidays at Christmas) so not planning much apart from an egg hunt on Sunday for the boys...just going to enjoy the rest. Hope you...

Something for Easter At Last!

It's been a funny old day today - I crammed two months of college work into two nights on Thursday and Friday evenings in preparation for my exam this morning, only to receive a phone call to tell me it had been cancelled because they hadn't prepared all the paperwork! So despite having plenty on my "to do" list, it left me at a loose end. I forced myself to go to Asda and get the week's shopping and then thought 'blow the housework' and decided to do some crafting. Came up with these little Easter bags. I needed something for Sam's two Teachers and a couple of friends of mine and these fitted the bill. I did actually make some similar to this last Easter, the instructions are on the Scor-pal site - they are so quick and easy which is what I like! I used Elzybells stamp and two sentiment stamps from Papertrey Ink. Images are coloured with Promarkers. Card and paper are from my scrap box as is the ribbon and flowers and brads are from my stash...a real ...

Easter Bags Galore!

This is going to be a VERY quick post as I've got to go out in five minutes! Sorry I haven't been around but had alot on, however, did manage to make some Easter Bags for my nieces and nephews using brown paper bags, some toppers and scraps from my stash! Many apologies again for the rush but will be back soon!

Happy Birthday Finley!

The theme on Stamp Something this week is 3D somethings and I felt really bad that I couldn't join in with the DT work because of yet more personal problems!! However, Finley, the little boy next door is celebrating his birthday today so wanted to give him a few sweets with his card so decided on this. The template is from My Timeless Templates and is so simple to make. Just used some DP from Pebbles Inc., acetate, whole punch, gingham ribbon from stash and a stamp from Cats Life Press. Will show the card I made him at a later date as I've used it for a little competition and waiting to hear the results.

Whiff of Joy Recipe Challenge

The Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is a recipe - three different papers, two flowers and one brad or button. Decided to make myself a bookmark and this is what I came up with. The papers are a mixture of K & Co., and My Minds Eye, the image is Willow with Cocoa and the Magnolia stack of books, both coloured with Promarkers. There is one brad on the top flower and the other flower has a Papermania sticky gem. Used an SU jumbo eyelet and some ribbon from Hobbycraft. I haven't completed a challenge so quickly in a long time!!

Sweets For My Sweet!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Last week I made a little folder card for my boys for Valentines and mentioned that I would be making them something else. Well, managed to put something together very quickly yesterday which they have probably demolished by now! A little while ago, Alex kindly sent me two of these cute mailboxes and it wasn't until last week when I saw her submission on Stamp Something that I knew what I wanted to do with mine. The second one is a bit more "pinky" so have given that to Sam as being the youngest he wouldn't mind so much - just interested in what's inside! I've filled them up with bags of jelly hearts and marshmallow hearts. Both images and sentiment are from Elzybells and coloured with Promarkers with doodling around the edges. They've been matted onto Bazzill c.s. I've absolutely no idea who makes the papers as I've had them for a few years now. Used sticky ribbons, Papermania sticky gems and some ribbon from...

So, so tired!!!

Oh, I so wish I was tucked up in my bed, however, it's 11.40 at night and my kids are still not asleep!! They are so excited and of course, Mummy can't go to bed until I've done the things a Mummy has to do on Christmas Eve! (Got to be very careful as my eldest reads my blog!). I've already fallen asleep on the sofa once tonight so thought I would load a couple of photos on my blog to pass the time. The first is a small Christmas gift I made for my MIL. It's a fridge magnet kit from K & Co so thought it might come in handy for her. I got the kit from Hobbycraft a little while ago. The second photo is a picture of my two boys, which was taken last Sunday when we paid a visit to Santa. Going to check on the little rascals once more in the hope of being able to get to bed myself sometime soon. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visits my blog and leave such kind comments and would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New...

What a Day!

It's just coming up to quarter past four in the afternoon and I have just literally got back to the house and managed to sit down for five minutes! Was up all night with toothache and managed to get in with the Emergency Dentist at the hospital this morning who told me my abscess is back and has given me some anti-biotics to try and calm it down. Since then, have been dropping off Christmas presents here, there and everywhere but did manage to fit in a visit to Santa - the boys were so excited and I can't quite believe that Lewis, who is eleven, still believes in him! Think he is having doubts though as he's asking alot of questions about him and when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he reeled off a list of the presents which are hidden in my wardrobe - very suspicious!!!! You'll be relieved to hear that I have no Christmas cards to show today! Instead, thought I would show you the gift bags I made a friend and the boys' Teachers. I only had the brown o...

Stamp Something Spooky!

Happy Halloween to everyone! I've got two very excited boys who can't wait to dress up and are going to a Halloween Party this afternoon. That will mean I'll have a couple of hours to myself but unfortunately, have to pop into town to tax my car - yes, it passed its MoT, thank goodness!! Well, it may be Halloween but it's also Friday which means another challenge on Stamp Something and, of course, it had to be something spooky! For the card, I've used an image from Sugar Nellie and coloured it with Promarkers, which took all of five seconds!!!! The papers are a free download, as is the sentiment. Cardstock is Bazzill. Bat brad is Karen Foster and other brads are from my stash. The bags were made from a Digital Download which was just folded in half and attached to the bag of chocolate eyeballs. I've kept it very simple as I had quite a few to make for all the boys' friends. One more thing to share with you - I made this scrapbook page last year and did load...

Stamp Something Red, White and Blue!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything for a little while but life has been so hectic and I have been finding it very difficult to get inspired to make anything. However, it's Friday which means it's time for the Stamp Something challenge and this week the very talented Melissa has set it! The challenge this week is a two parter - to create something in red, white and blue, and have it be ANYTHING BUT A CARD! This challenge is based on the fact that it's Independence Day in the States very soon so I have taken my inspiration from the Stars and Stripes, plus Lewis, my eldest Son, has been nagging me for ages to make him a book so this is what I came up with..... I've used my Bind It All to make the actual book and covered it with Pink Petticoat papers printed onto lightweight card and stuck some Doodlebug ribbon across the join. The image is Magnolia (which was a RAK from someone) and I've coloured him with Prismas and Sansodor adding Glamour Dust to his...

Party Bags!

As I explained in a previous post, I'm slowly catching up with my crafting and postings so thought that as it is the day of Sam's party, would show you the little treat bags I made for the kids. The design of these came from Claudia's blog candy competition, however, I wasn't able to enter it at the time because of my computer dying on me but when I saw her tutorial, knew these would be ideal to take to the party!! I've used the same Daisy Bucket double sided paper I used for the invitations with the cheeky Changito stamp (coloured with Brushables), Nestabilities, Bazzill c.s., Doodlebug ribbon and MFT sentiment. Sam had a fantastic day yesterday and was so pleased with his room! so thought I would share a couple of photos with you. The first is of him in his "refurbished" bedroom! and this is a close up of Mr Nonsense! My friend Lee drew this and then painted it straight on the wall - something I could never do - then I just had to outline it yesterday. ...

A Few Folders

Thought I was going to have a free day today to get on with some crafting but nothing ever goes to plan!! Got the shopping done at Asda first thing and was just about to settle down to some cardmaking when the phone rings......it was the school asking me to collect Lewis as he wasn't feeling well. He's now in bed fast asleep, poor chap, so that gives me some time to post this and colour in a couple of images in the hope of putting a card together tonight when the boys are in bed. These are three folders I made a couple of days ago to send out some images to blogging buddies. The image on the right (Tilda in Paris) was one of the Magnolias kindly sent to me by Sue. They've all been coloured in the usual way - Prismas and Sansodor with Glamour Dust on their wings, apart from Paris Tilda whose wings are hidden. Folders were made from plain white cardstock with papers, coloured c.s. and ribbons from my stash. Tiny sticky gems are from Papermania.
