I'm Still Alive!!

Hi all, so sorry I haven't been around for a while but have had a few issues to deal with which are still ongoing. Anyway, I promise I will try and catch up over the next few days as I've got a couple of things to show. Talking of things to show, here's a card I made for my pal, Vanessa , and realised that it fitted in with the CCT challenge for this week. Hope you got the joke Vanessa lol!! The theme is "In The House" and have kept this very simple because of lack of time! Images are from a RAK and think they are Hanna stamps, although not too sure! Coloured with Promarkers and I've added some Glossy Accents to the bottle to give it the "plastic" look. Cardstock is Brocade Blue from SU and DP is part of the Bluebell range from Pink Petticoat. Ribbon is from Dovecraft. Must rush now as me and Sam are off to Yeovil to see Jose and Lewis (who has been staying with her this week). Will be back very soon and thanks for bearing with me!

All About Me!

As promised, I'm back with my DT work for Stamp Something . This week the challenge has been set by Alex and wow, did she test me!! The challenge is to make a scrapbook page of 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 but nothing smaller and the theme is "All About Me". However, that's not all of it!! It must include the following:- (1) three buttons (2) four brads (3) two different ribbons (4) some sort of lettering for the title (chipboard, paint, stickers, stamps, etc) (5) at least two stamped items (6) five facts about yourself. There are a couple of reasons why I found this a real challenge - firstly, I haven't done a scrapbook page in a long time, mainly because it takes me quite a while to complete one page. Also, the theme was a problem for me......I never scrap anything about myself unless I really have to, and I never seem to be in photos as I'm always the one behind the camera!! Taking all that into consideration, I really made an effort to get this one done in record

Look What I Got!

Hi all! Starting to get myself together again......haven't done any crafting this week apart from my DT work for Stamp Something which I will post tomorrow, however, had a bit of a "get organised" day today and started sorting my stamps out. Mounted all my new High Hopes which arrived last week and stamped each and every one of them and then scanned them to my computer. Also did the same for my Bellas (although there's no so many of those lol!) and my Penny Blacks. Sugar Nellies are planned for tomorrow although I keep looking at my Magnolias and then putting them back again.....really didn't think I had THAT many and nearly half of them have never been used!! Do you think I may have a problem ? lol!!!! Anyway, would like to share the award I received three times!! It really did cheer me up to know I've got such good blogging buddies out there, as I have been feeling a little down in the mouth lately!! I received this from three ladies (and I use the term loo

Ila's Magnolia Blog Candy

The lovely and extremely talented Ila has got some wonderful candy on offer on her blog.....well worth a visit!! Sorry I haven't got anything to show today but having a hard time of it lately with a few personal problems....anyway hoping to get them sorted soon and I'm working on a couple of craft projects so hope to share them with you too!! I'm really trying to catch up on my blogging as I have been a naughty blogger lately so please bear with me....I'll be round to visit you very soon!!

The Sweetest Thing!

The challenge on Stamp Something this week is to make something "sweet" so got one of my favourite PB stamps out which I thought would be ideal for this. Do you recognise the paper? lol!! If I'm making anything remotely connected to chocolate, I just have to use these papers!! Image is PB Sweet Slumber which has been coloured with Promarkers and the Woodware sentiment has been stamped underneath. DP is Doodlebug and c.s. is Bazzill Bling. Used my Quickutz Flourish die for the swirl and added some pink Papermania sticky gems. Ribbon is from my stash and has been attached to main image with SU slot punch and also used corner rounder from SU. Do you remember I said I'd been busy making Teachers' cards and gifts, well here's a little something which I decorated yesterday in the same papers. Used my SU corner rounder on the edge of the paper to make the scallops. Sentiment card is from Craftwork Cards as are the Chocolate Drops. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling - an idea

Thanks A Latte!!

Another quick post today as I'm very busy........Sam is off school today due to a Teachers' strike, got loads of cards and projects to make as thank yous for the Teachers as school finishes on Monday, plus we've got Lewis's Sports Day this afternoon if it doesn't decide to rain!!! This card is one of the Thank You cards for the Teachers - I've got quite a few to make so have kept it very simple, sticking with the layout I have been using recently. This one is an actual card but have also made some as cardfolders and put a Starbucks voucher and chocolate inside the pockets as a small gift. Image is Lattebella coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment stamp is from MFT. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling and papers are Doodlebug. Sticky gems are Papermania and Chocolate Drops are from Craftwork Cards. Finally, rounded all the edges with my SU corner rounder. Must rush as I need to get Sam to pack away all his mess!!

Paddling Tilda Part II!!

This card is very similar to the last one I made......remember how I said I'm trying to make a couple of cards at the same time? Just tried to make it slightly different by using different colours and papers etc. Image is Magnolia, courtesy of Vanessa and has been coloured with Promarkers. Papers are DCWV and c.s. is Bazzill, sentiment is SU which has been layered onto Bazzill c.s. cut with SU punch and then cut into the scallop to make it look more like a flower. Flowers and brad are from my stash and sticky gems are Papermania. Must rush as I've got a busy day ahead of me!

What A Relief!!

Posting this one quite early for me as I didn't get an awful lot of sleep - was worried about the baby seagull last night as he was still in our garden when I went to bed and I was afraid the foxes or badgers might eat him! Anyway woke this morning to see an empty garden which wasn't covered in feathers - thank goodness!! Looks like he made it over a couple of fences and is a bit closer to his nest now! Back to cards, and here's one I made yesterday because I couldn't get my washing done! The image which is Magnolia, was stamped for me by Vanessa and I coloured it with Promarkers. Papers are from Pink Petticoat and layered with my favourite mirricard! Sentiment is from Woodware and flowers and brad are from my stash. It's actually alot pinker IRL but I do love this paper.....one of my favourites I think! Off to get the boys ready for school now - have a good day.

Another Birthday Party!

Sam has got another couple of parties coming up so thought I would make a start on one of the cards and not leave it until the last minute as I usually do!! Also, thought I would start inking up some of the stamps I've had for a few weeks now and came up with this one. When I'd made it, realised it qualified for CCT challenge this week which is to make a card for a child! The images are Magnolia which have been coloured with Promarkers and I've stamped the sentiment (also Magnolia) on top of the wall. Cardstock is Bazzill, however, unsure what DP I used as I've had it for ages and they were scraps! Ribbon is Dovecraft and buttons were in my blog candy win from Jenny . Got a feeling it's going to be a very relaxing day today - still in my dressing gown and no incentive at all to get going - got a pile of ironing to do 'though which I'm trying hard to ignore!!! Have a great day.

Triple Play!

Here we are, Friday already - where does the time go? It's time for another Stamp Something challenge and this week it's "triple play" - three colours, three layers and three embellishments. I've taken the three colours from the Bo Bunny DP (red, pink and turquoise). The bottom layer is the DP, the second layer is cardstock which I recently won in Jenny's blog candy and the turquoise layer has been run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The third layer is Tilda herself and she has been coloured using Promarkers with some Glamour Dust added to her wings, then layered onto red c.s. The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly. I've made up three flowers as the embellishments using a different variety of flowers from my stash and some brads. Didn't make it to Craft Central yesterday.....was too busy nattering to my friend! I wasn't too disappointed as I have been receiving a few packages this week besides my Promarkers. Hope you'l

What A Cutie!

I told you I'd been colouring with my new pens and the following card was made up with an image which Vanessa kindly sent me......isn't she a cutie! (the image, not Vanessa!!!) I was quite pleased with the way the colours turned out on this one. The papers are from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies stack and c.s. is Bazzill Bling. I actually used my Quickutz Flourish die for the first time - it's been sat on my desk unopened for about a month!! Flowers and brads are from my stash. Finally, added a couple of Papermania sticky gems to the flourish. I really must practice my photographic skills as you can't see the gorgeous glitter in the papers and the sheen on the Bazzill c.s. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated! Must go and sort my hair out now as I'm meeting one of my pals for coffee and might just pop into Craft Central (it's on my way home!). Hope you have a nice dry day today - it's actually stopped raining down here so I've t

Something To Show (at long last!) and More Candy!

At last......I've actually made a card....in fact I made two today but one of them I can't show until Friday so you'll have to settle for this one instead!!! I recently got some Letraset Promarkers after reading all about them on Fran's blog and spent last night colouring - took me back to my childhood.....I absolutely adore colouring in. Anyway, I was very impressed with them and although I haven't mastered the shading yet, was very pleased with the effect they give. You can't really see it in the photo but it almost looks as if the coloured image has been printed. I have started using up some of the piles of images you kind ladies have been sending me and this Skipping Tilda was from Vanessa. Coloured with Promarkers with some Glamour Dust added to her wings and stamped a Woodware sentiment alongside her. Cardstock is all Bazzill, as are the brads and DP is from All My Memories. Ribbon and flowers are from my stash. Talking of Fran , she has got some fabulou

New High Hopes Release

As some of you may be aware, High Hopes have released their new set of stamps and Ila who is part of their DT has some gorgeous blog candy on offer. If for some insane reason you're not interested in winning some HH stamps, I urge you to visit Ila's blog because her work is absolutely stunning.....I love it!! So pop on over and take a look and try your luck!! Well, we got home from the fete yesterday just in time as it poured with rain! However, the boys enjoyed themselves and thought you might like to see a photo of them with their balloons!! If you're wondering what Lewis is holding, it's a palm tree with a bear climbing up it!! I didn't realise until I had taken the picture, that there is a photo behind them taken six years ago......do you think they have grown?!!! Hope your Sunday is a bit drier than mine.....very wet and windy down here!!

Cat in a Hammock Pt II, An Award, Lots of Blog Candy and the Missing Card!!

Had a lovely relaxing morning......I actually had a lie in for the first time in over a year and it was heaven!! The sun is out this morning after all the rain we had yesterday but it's very windy, however, should be OK for Sam's School Fete this afternoon. I mentioned last week that when I make a card, I am trying to do a second one using the same stamp and papers so thought I would show the card I had made when I did the Stamp Something challenge. This one doesn't have so much bling on it......just some glitter and mirricard and must admit, I like this one better. The image is Penny Black, coloured in the same way - Brushables and plenty of glitter, layered onto mirricard and Pink Petticoat papers. Sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly, flower is Prima Sprite and sticky gems are from Papermania. My blogging buddy Jackie, has also given me this award.... .....wow, can't believe it as that's the sixth time I have been awarded this.....what an honour and thanks so much Ja

Dazzle Us With Something Challenge!

Hope everyone is having a great day and for all my buddies across the pond, Happy Independence Day!! The challenge on Stamp Something this week is "dazzle us with something that sparkles, shines, shimmers or glitters" and this can only mean one thing for me (or rather, two!) - glitter and mirricard!!! The image is from Penny Black and I've coloured it with Brushables and added plenty of glitter to the bra and butterflies although it doesn't show up too well in the photo. Papers are from Pink Petticoat printed onto lightweight c.s. and layered with mirricard. Sentiment is SU as are the punches I used to layer it. Finally ribbon and buckle are from my stash. Had to add a Papermania sticky gem inside the buckle because the ribbon is so sheer, you could see the back of the buckle, however, not too happy with the finished effect. Have sent Tony up the school to pick the kids up which means it's my turn to take Sam to Tae Kwon-do tonight - Lewis won't be going a

Nikki's Blog Candy

Claudia's Blog Candy

Another very talented lady is offering up some gorgeous blog candy. Claudia of Pretty Pressings has a Magnolia stamp, lots of stamped images and one very gorgeous handmade folder on offer so pop on over and take a look!

The lovely and very talented Michelle has some scrummy blog candy up for grabs to celebrate her ever increasing number of hits.....well done Michelle!! It's well worth taking a look at and while you're there, have a good look at her work (and her donkeys!) - it's fabulous!

Aren't I A Lucky Girl!!

Sorry I couldn't do my posting yesterday but I did try! I sat down to edit the photos to load them on and my PSP wouldn't load properly for some bizarre reason. Anyway, it's all sorted now so here we go.....got lots to show - not from me but from all you kind people out there! I'll start with the card I made recently for yet another kids birthday party lol! Wasn't that pleased with this one as it was VERY rushed and usually, when I'm not happy with a card, I will throw it to one side and start again but I really didn't have time with this one so had to settle for this. The image is Stampendous (just love those cheeky monkies!) and I've coloured it with Brushables, c.s. is Bazzill, DP is Doodlebug, sentiment is from High Hopes and brads and ribbon are from my stash. Crikey, that was quick!!! Look what I won recently! Jenny at Stamping Moments held a blog candy competition recently and I couldn't believe it when I won! It felt like Christmas opening u
