Special Day

I had some more of this wonderful paper left on my desk so thought I would make use of it and put another card together. Used another image from Sugar Nellie, coloured with PM's with some Sakura glitter pen added to the flowers and doodling around the edges, then matted it onto SU cardstock. Used My Mind's Eye double-sided DP and my Fiskars border punch to create the scalloped edge. Layered the sentiment from Cuddly Buddly onto a scalloped circle made with SU punch and attached it to the card with a piece of gold cord. Finally, added a couple of Bazzill brads. Can't believe the weekend is gone already! Lewis is off to London today for five days - I've actually scheduled this post because we have to be up the school at 7.30 am so it will be quite hectic this morning so he will have already left by the time you read this {big tear}. Things are going to be soooo quiet with just me and Sam - guess I'd better make the most of it as it will be back to arguing and quarre

Green Has Left the Building!

I've finally managed to make a card without using green......or at least not much!! Don't know what came over me recently as I've never made so many green cards in my life! Found this paper in my stash and I love it so made up a very simple card. The image was a RAK from Vanessa which I've coloured with PM's and added some doodling around the edge. I think it's a Sugar Nellie (minus the cat!) but please let me know if I'm wrong. Papers are My Mind's Eye which have been distressed and stitched using my sewing machine. Added a piece of lace to the bottom edge of the patterned paper. Cardstock is SU. Sentiment is Papertrey Ink. Layered some flowers together with a fancy brad from my stash and embellished it with a couple of heart clips which I pulled apart. Finally, added a little star charm which I got from Ebay. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Sketch Something!

Friday at last! which means time for another challenge on Stamp Something . This week our fellow DT Member, Emily , has provided us with a sketch and it's just up my street! I've used a stamp from Spiral Whisper which hasn't seen ink before (!) and coloured him with PM's. I'm afraid I'm not sure what papers I used as they're scraps on my desk. However, plain green c.s. is Bazzill Bling and has been run through the cuttlebug with Stylized Flowers folder. Ribbon is from SU and brads are from Poppicrafts. This week's challenge is being sponsored by Layers of Colors so please pop over and take a look.

Yet More Green!!

Had an hour to spare yesterday before an appointment, so decided to put a card together to keep my mind occupied. Got all my favourites out for this one - my Daisy stamp (coloured with PM's), My Mind's Eye papers, distressed and sewn and a little charm which I bought from E-bay fixed onto the card with some fibres. Got to do some shopping today as my eldest is off to London on Monday for a week with the school, so must make sure I've got everything for him so we can get him packed at the weekend. Will be back tomorrow with my DT work.

Another Panduro and an Award!

Had another attempt at a card when I got back from school yesterday and much happier with this one. Decided to go for a very basic layout and this time, didn't use so much green! I've mentioned before that I'm really out of my comfort zone with the colour green, however, seem to have been making quite a few green cards recently. I already had this Panduro image coloured in so just matted her onto red Bazzill c.s. Layered some SU DP and covered the join with some Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon. Sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly which was layered onto red Bazzill scallop using SU punch. Finally, added two brads from my stash. I recently received this fantastic award from Erin ......... The rules of this award are:- This fab award is given to blogs which - inspire you, make you smile and laugh, or maybe give amazing information, a great read~ has an amazing design and any other reasons you can think of that makes them uber amazing! Not Sure About This One!

I've been a bit pre-occupied this morning and tried hard to make a card which I've managed, however, not sure I really like it. Don't know what it is exactly as I love these Panduro images and I love the SU paper but feeling that maybe it's a bit "cluttered". Anyway it's done now! The Panduro image has been coloured with PM's with some Sakura glitter pen added to the flower. Flowers are SU but were a gift from my good friend Denise, ribbon is from Hobbycraft, brads are from my stash and all the rest is SU. Lovely sunny day again today so must try to get more washing out. Hope the sun's shining where you are.

Two More Candies Up For Grabs!

Had to pop back again to let you know about some candy! Firstly, Katharina who owns Whiff of Joy has a new release coming out which you can see on her blog and she is offering a set of them for a prize - wow! Secondly, Zoe has some gorgeous candy up for grabs - Doodlebug.....my favourite.... to celebrate her blogoversary, hits and birthday all in one so pop on over and take a look.

Chit Chat and Ila's Candy

I already had this image stamped out so thought I'd better make use of it so decided to team it up with some of the papers I've been using recently. The stamp is from Penny Black and is called Chitchat and I've coloured it with my PM's. Papers are a mixture of DCWV, Papermania and Basic Grey (I think) and flowers and brads are from my stash. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. Finally, used my SU punch to round the corners. Would like to mention that the very talented Ila has some absolutely gorgeous blog candy up for grabs to celebrate her number of hits. Ila makes absolutely stunning cards so pop on over and take a look.

New Beginnings

My friend and neighbour Clare, is leaving me {tear}. She has lived next door to me for the past year and unfortunately has to move. Me and the boys will be so sorry to see them go. In the short time I've known her, she's become a really good friend and our kids get on so well together. Thought I'd make them a card and there's only one stamp I like to use for new homes. The image is from Whipper Snapper and has been coloured with PM's. Papers are a mixture again from my scraps and have layered them all onto Bazzill Bling c.s. Flowers are Prima and button is Doodlebug and sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Back to the studying again this weekend while the boys are out although hope to get some time for crafting!

Stamp Something Spring!

The challenge on Stamp Something this week is "Spring" and what perfect timing as the weather has really warmed up down here......so nice to see the sunshine again! Now you can be forgiven for thinking that I was continuing the theme from last week's Something Green challenge! It wasn't until I was photographing the card that I realised how much green I had used and that's from a person who doesn't use green an awful lot!! This cute little fella is from Whipper Snapper and is called Sweet Sniffs of Spring. I've coloured him in the usual way with PM's and a little Sakura glitter pen on the flower. Usual doodling around the border. Papers are all from my scrap box and have rounded the corners with my SU punch and then layered a few flowers from my stash with a Doodlebug sugarcoated brad in the centre and some metal embellishments behind. I haven't bothered with a sentiment yet until I know who I'm going to send it to. Pop on over to Stamp Some

Truly Unique!

Here's another quick card I made for one of my Great Nephews, Alex whose birthday is coming up a bit sooner than I thought, hence the rush!! The images are Magnolia, coloured with PM's and the papers, card and punches are all from SU. The sentiment stamp is from Autumn Leaves.....I think! Sorry this is so short today but have got loads to get on with and there's simply not enough hours in the day!!

A Thank You From Edwin

I didn't think I'd have a card to show you quite so soon, however, my friend asked if I could make her a thank you card a.s.a.p. and I don't like letting people down so found this image I had already coloured and put together a very quick card. The layout looks a bit wonky in the photo but I think it was just the angle I took it as it's OK IRL! The image is Magnolia coloured with Promarkers and matted onto some plain red card with doodling around the edge. The papers are from SU as is the sentiment and the scallop punch and corner rounder punch. The other punch is from Fiskars. Enjoy your Wednesday - I've got to do a bit of shopping at Asda (yuk!) and then settle down to yet more college work!!

I'm So Lucky........

.........to have such kind friends! As you're probably aware, I'm going through a particularly difficult time in my life right now but the one good thing to come out of it is that I'm realising that it's not the amount of money or material things I have which makes me happy but all the little things like when my boys tell me "I love you Mummy", or when Sam tells me he thinks I'm beautiful like Rosalina from Mario Karts!(BIG compliment!). It's also knowing I've got such good friends who are always there to listen to me moan and cry and receiving little gifts to let me know they're thinking of me. I received this gorgeous card and stamp from Denise ........ How generous was that! Not only has she made a beautiful card with one of my favourite Tildas but she also sent me one of the Whimsy stamps. It's so nice to get some new rubber when, like so many people, funds are really tight at the moment and I could never justify buying any new craftin

Red Nose Day!

Thought I'd pop back and just show what my boys looked like this morning! Just a quick explanation for anyone who doesn't live in the UK - Red Nose Day or Comic Relief is a time for people to do something silly to raise money for charity. My eldest, Lewis decided that apart from buying his red nose, he was going to dye his hair red, go to school in his pyjamas, be tied to his best friend all day, and do a sponsored silence. If you knew my Son, you'd know that the last one was particularly hard for him to do as he never stops talking! Anyway, he managed it.....well done Lewis! Sam hasn't been very well at all today although he seems a bit brighter now and managed to keep a sandwich down. However, he still managed to put his red nose on this morning and give me a smile! Hope you all have a great weekend - red noses or not!

Something Green

So sorry I haven't been around this week, however, have been busy with college work and personal stuff. The good news is I passed my second module last Monday and I'm working through the third module quite quickly. The challenge on Stamp Something this week is "Green". Now this is a colour I don't use much so it was a real challenge for me! The image is Panduro and has been coloured with Promarkers. I cut her out using a Nestability label die and stamped a Cuddly Buddly sentiment onto it. The papers are from my stash and I distressed the edges a little and sewed around the edges with my machine. Flowers are a mixture from my stash, added a Bazzill brad to each of the centres and pulled apart some heart clips I had and fixed them behind. Sorry this is a bit rushed, however, it's Red Nose Day today and I've got to spray Lewis's hair red before he goes to school! Also, I've got Sam off ill today so will be busy giving out lots of cuddles!! Have a gr

Alot's Been Happening!

I haven't got a card to show today but do have some photos. We've had a busy time in our home just recently - firstly the Tooth Fairy has paid a visit FIVE times in the last couple of weeks and just couldn't resist showing you this photo of Sam - he's now lost his top two teeth - don't they look so cute when that happens! Plus, it's great hearing him trying to talk and seeing him try to eat lol!!! Lewis has lost three teeth but he's more camera shy!! Yesterday was a big day for Sam. Firstly, his class did their assembly at school and the topic was traditional stories so the class did a rap of Red Riding Hood - it was so funny and they looked so cute in their shades, baseball caps and bling (which they made themselves out of pasta and paint!!) Then, in the evening Sam's big moment had come and he graded for his Black Belt at Tae Kwon-do and he did me and his big brother proud! What a star! The belt is actually embroidered with his name and the date of his

Favourite Somethings

The challenge on Stamp Something this week is "favourites". This could be your favourite stamp, theme, papers, etc., so I chose to use my favourite layout. When I'm stuck on a card I always tend to revert to this layout as I love its simplicity. I was asked by a friend if I could make an engagement card for her so thought I would combine it with this week's challenge. The image is Fluffles in Love from Stampendous and I've coloured it with PM's and used my Sakura glitter pen on the bows. Added a Woodware sentiment just below the image and doodled around the edges to create a border. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling but I'm afraid I don't know the make of the DP - I've had it for ages. Matted the top layer with foam pads and used SU slot punch to attach the ribbon from my stash. Used the Fiskars border punch on the bottom of the DP and the SU corner rounder. Finally, added some Prima flowers and some Papermania sticky hearts to the centres. Back to norm
