Fresh and Fun!

My blogging buddy Jilli, recently celebrated her birthday and is holding a birthday blog candy challenge. The challenge is to make a card entitled "Fresh and Fun" so this is my contribution!

I knew which stamp set I wanted to use as soon as I saw the challenge.....Sassy Suzie from Stampin Up, which I've recently acquired, so I thought that was the "fun" bit and I love this patterened paper from Saffrasslass which I think could qualify for the "fresh" part. I've coloured Susie with Prismas and Sansodor and used Marvy for her make-up. Cardstock is from Bazzill with the turqoise/teal panel run through my Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots embossing folder. Brads and ribbon are from my stash and the slits for the ribbon have been made with a SU punch.

I've got Sam off school today as the Teachers at the Infants are taking a "day of action", however, the Teachers at the Junior School voted against it so Lewis still has to go to school! Don't think me and Sam will be going far today as it's pouring with rain so hopefully, will be able to get some crafting done today. BTW, guess what? .....my loo is working again!!! The plumber turned up unexpectedly yesterday evening with the part and it worked! Twelve days without a flush and lugging buckets of water about was long enough I can tell you!!

My Surprise For Tony!!

As promised, I'm back to let you in on my surprise for Tony tomorrow! Don't know where to start with this but maybe a little personal history first. When I married Tony in 1996 I was a UK size 14. I've always had to watch my weight and never been naturally thin but was never vastly overweight either. In March 1997 I fell pregnant with Lewis and that's when the trouble started.....the weight piled on and after he was born as well because I wasn't eating properly and just grabbing food out of the fridge when I had a spare five minutes.....oh, the joys of being a new Mum! Then I got pregnant again with Sam and even though I didn't gain much more weight during pregnancy, I made up for it afterwards! Am I boring you yet! It took me ten years and many failed diets to finally get serious about losing weight so I started my diet in January this year and this is the evidence....... please do not show the first photo to small children or animals as it may scare them !!!!!...
