Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers - 13

Well I've bitten the bullet and decided to join an SBS group. I've been thinking about it for a while now so I'm now one of the "Sisters"!! We have to write a short getting to know you post so here goes! My name is Jo King (yes, it really is!!), I'm 44 years old and proud of it :) and married to Tony with two beautiful boys, Lewis (10) and Sam (5). Tony at present, works in Australia and has been there just over a year but all being well, will be returning to the UK sometime this year......don't worry you will all know about it as soon as I know the date!!! I live in Weymouth, a small town on the south coast of England and am lucky enough to be a SAHM. I started cardmaking about four or five years ago but when I look back at what I made, it makes me cringe!! I love stamping and shopping for stash (not necessarily in that order!) and I also enjoy scrapbooking and altering items. I love blog hopping and find all the blogs out there totally inspirational........

Catching Up Part II!

I mentioned earlier a PIF and would like to show the one I received from Fran. And a closer look at that fabulous card....... There's definitely no excuse for me not to make a card now with all the fantastic images I've acquired over the past couple of weeks! Thanks Fran for being so generous :) So now it's my turn to do another PIF. The first three people to leave a comment under this post will receive a little something from me and then they have to do the same on their blog.

Catching Up

Sorry I haven't been around lately....been busy sorting out some PIFs I have to send off so to all the ladies involved, sorry for the delay but I will be posting them tomorrow - all being well! I'll show you what I made when the people involved have received them. Got a few things to cover in this post, the first being I have been tagged by Jo so here goes! WHAT WERE YOU DOING TEN YEARS AGO? I was adjusting to the fact that I'd become a new Mum and what a shock that was. Lewis was about three months old so things had started to improve by then! WHAT WERE YOU DOING ONE YEAR AGO? Also making adjustments but this time getting used to being a 'single Mum' cause Tony had just left to work in Australia and I was (and still am!) left looking after the two kids. Must admit, it's been VERY tough and my hat goes off to all you girls who do this every day AND have a job! NAME YOUR FIVE FAVOURITE SNACKS None!!! That's 'cause I'm on a VERY strick diet at the mom...

Easter Card and More Paper!

It's a beautiful morning here in Sunny Dorset......no rain and the sun is out and.......it's peaceful!! The kids went back to school this morning! Both of them were grumpy and tired and Sam was very tearful. However, I know that when I put them to bed tonight, they will both go out like lights (hopefully!). Now for the card. Managed to photograph it this morning. This one's for the Papertake Weekly Challenge and after receiving my papers from Blonde Moments, thought this set would be ideal for Spring. I also used one of my new stamps from Sugar Nellie which I managed to mount last week when I was having a sort out. I was really out of my comfort zone with these colours....they're not ones I usually choose, however, because I liked the papers so much, took the colours from them. Image is coloured with Brushables and mounted on Bazzill c.s. Flower is also from Bazzill and brad from Poppicrafts. The greeting is a stamp......yes, the one I can never remember!! Can you belie...

And another one!!

Talk about last minute!! I get the urge to make some cards today and decide to do ones for candy competitions which are ending tomorrow!! No pressure!! This one is for Natty K's blog candy. All you have to do is make a pink birthday card. Already made one pink card today so decided to do this one. The papers and image are from Pink Petticoat (told you I loved these big spots!) and the car has been coloured with Brushables. Used mirriboard from my stash, ribbon is Papermania as are the sticky jewels at the top, flower is from Poppicrafts and I think the pearl brad is also Papermania? The sentiment could be Woodware (!) and again, this is stamped straight on the paper. Had a busy day today and it's not over yet. The boys are back to school tomorrow (punches the air!) so me and Lewis made a book with my Bind It All for his homework, he's just got to finish his story now. Also been busy washing and ironing with yet more to do. Will have another card to show tomorrow but need s...

I've Made a Card (at long last!!)

Well, it finally happened......I finished a card, yippee!! Caroline of Pretty Pink Cards has got some blog candy on offer and all you have to do is make a pink card. I got this stamp from Whipper Snapper a couple of weeks ago and thought it was about time she was inked up. I've coloured her with Prismas and Sansodor with a little glamour dust added to her dress. Papers are from Pink Petticoat.....am absolutely loving these big dots at the moment. Had the download for a while but again, first time I've actually used it! Mirriboard was from my stash, brads are from Poppicrafts and the flower is from W H Smith!! Sentiment (which could be Woodware but not 100% certain) is stamped straight onto paper.

Look What I Got Part 3!

Boo hoo ! They've only gone and killed off my eye candy, Steven, in Primeval. Just my luck! However, by the look of the ending, he could be resurrected.....hope they buried him with a shovel!!! Anyway, final posting for today and as promised, thought I show you what I got from the lovely Han for my PIF . More gorgeous goodies and a wonderful card! Thank you so much Han. It's been like Christmas all over again with all these lovely packages arriving. I really enjoy doing these PIFs , obviously I love receiving them but I also enjoy sending them. So now it's my turn to Pass It Forward so the first three people to leave a comment will receive a little something from me. Have actually stamped a couple of images tonight and coloured them.....I was getting a bit worried after a whole week of absolutely nothing! so hoping to soon be back in the swing of things. Have a relaxing Saturday evening :)

Look What I Got Part 2!

Would like to share with you a RAK I received from my Blogging Buddy Denise of Stamping with Denise (link on left). Am I a lucky girl or what!! Not just alot of goodies but a beautiful card as well. Thank you so much Denise.....so glad I've become friends with you over the last few weeks as I love your work and it really does inspire me :) I'll be back again after Primeval to share something else. Me and the boys love that programme and it's a real exciting one tonight. See you later!

Look What I Got Part 1!

Sorry, still no cards of my own to share but plenty of other things to show you. Good news is I'm beginning to get the urge to make a card so hopefully will have something to post in the next day or so. Firstly, I'd like to share a card my Son, Lewis made me. It did make me laugh because (a) he put on it "sorry I ruined your day"! He's actually not been too bad over the half term break but yesterday evening did start playing me up, and (b) he wrote inside "please don't throw this away as it's the best card I've ever made and it took me 45 minutes to make"!!! Bless him! As if I would throw it away! It's so sweet : Well, I've had quite a few packages turn up in the last few days. This is some of it! Because of the lack of mojo, I decided I needed more papers to inspire me so I got a couple of packs from Craft Central and a few more packs from Blonde Moments which I love. The stamps are Whipper Snapper which were reduced. I've also ...

Sorry!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but I've been suffering! Suffering from lack of mojo. Don't know if it's because the boys are off this week and just haven't got the time but that doesn't usually stop me. Just can't seem to get myself going in the creative way this week. I sat down last night with a stamped image and thought "come on Jo, just do a bit of colouring". So I got my Prismas out and put them away again after 15 minutes because I started sharpening the ones I wanted to use and one of them kept breaking off which was making me very angry!! Does anyone else have that problem with them......that's the second one now. I get very uptight about it because they're meant to be high quality and they're not cheap!! Anyway, enough of the moaning! Something really nice has happened to me.....I got the Excellence Award again from Fran! I love visiting her blog 'cause her work is fantastic and I really enjoy speaking to her becau...

I've Finished!!!

What a gorgeous Saturday morning.....the sun is out, although still a bit cold, and I don't have to do any crafting today cause I finished the book at 11.10 pm last night!!! What a relief! It's my Brother's 50th birthday next year so I was thinking, perhaps I'd better start a book for him now lol!! Anyway, here are the rest of the pages I did yesterday........you WILL look at them!!!! Despite having to rush, I enjoyed these pages the most 'cause there was alot of babies in them....see if you can spot my two. I love the photo of Lewis and use it alot in my scrapbooks which he is not impressed with at all, bearing in mind he is naked in the bath and he is now ten years old.....must be embarrassing for him!! Now we're off into town to my Sister's to deliver the present....she'd better like it or she won't make 51!!! Planning a nice relaxing day today so hope to get back to normal and catch up with my blogging. Enjoy your weekend.

Still Going!!

Thought I would quickly share the other pages I have done with my book......are you as fed up with this as I am !!!! Sorry the photos are rubbish but it is really quite dark down here today and the flash kept bouncing off the pictures and I really couldn't be bothered to play around with them - me stressed? NEVER!!!! Right, well I've now done the parents, grandparents, great grandparents, brothers and sisters......now I just have to complete ten pages of nieces and nephews!! Got the kids off school today as well so I am praying they will understand and behave for me.....fingers crossed!!

I'm Still Here!!

Hi all!! Just to let you know that I am still around but things are a bit hectic for me at the moment. In true "Jo" style, I put off making my sister's scrapbook until the last minute and had a bit of a hairy scary moment yesterday when I realised her birthday is this Saturday....yikes!!! So everything else has been put on hold for this week while I get on with her book. So please don't think I'm being rude and not visiting your blogs.....I hope to catch up with my blogging at the weekend. First I'd like to announce that I got another award....it was from my good pal Denise and I take this as a real compliment because I find her work an inspiration! I would now like to pass this award on to three people who really do inspire me - Denise!! - just take it right back girl! I know you've already been awarded this but I love your work and hey, it's mine so I can give it to who I want - right?!!!! I'd also like to give it to Claudia of Pretty Pressings.....

PIF

What a great morning.....the sun is out and the postman has brought me two parcels! One was a MSE storage box for my unmounted stamps, such as Magnolias etc., so now I can try and organise myself a bit and get them sorted out. The second package was two more Magnolias from Sir Stampalot......well, I do need to fill up my box now!!......couldn't get over how quickly they arrived - I only ordered them yesterday afternoon! Also, I received a gorgeous card and goodies from Annie for her PIF. The card is so sweet and the colouring is fantastic. I'm off up to Dorchester in a mo to try and get some Sansodor so I can have a play with my Prismas this weekend and if my colouring ends up half as good as Annie's, I shall be well chuffed!! Now it's my turn to do the PIF, so the first three people to leave comments on this post will receive some goodies from me. Off to Dorchester now and then we're going to the Sea Life Centre as a treat for the boys!

KKCC #3

Back again! Have just dropped Lewis off at his school for a disco and thought I'd take this opportunity to load another card before I have to pick him up at 9.15 pm! Kimmie's challenge #3 is to design a card using spring colours. I've used a Penny Black stamp which I think is really cute....it's one of my new ones which arrived a day or two ago. I've coloured it with Brushables (still not got my Sansodor yet for my Prismas!) and layered it using my Nestabilities. I absolutely adore the paper, it's from K & Co and it's a shame the photo is not good because it's got such a sparkle to it! Pink and green c.s. is Bazzill as are the flowers with Papermania pearl brads. The sentiment is a stamp from Woodware.
