KKCC #2

Kimmie's second challenge for her celebration week is a sketch challenge so this is my entry. I've used a Penny Black stamp and coloured it with Brushables and then used Woodware circle and scalloped circle punches. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling and paper is from Doodlebug. I have run the brown c.s. through my Big Shot with a cuttlebug embossing folder. Sentiment is a Woodware stamp, velvet ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis, flowers are Prima, sparkly brads are from Papermania as are the sticky gems. Hope to be back a bit later with another offering...in the meantime, take a look at Kimmie's blog (link on the left)....she's got loads going on this week with some fabulous candy on offer!!

Two Challenges In One!!

I've finally done it without realising it.....I made a card for the Tilda & Co Challenge and realised, when I'd finished it, that it also fitted in with the Papertake Weekly Challenge - a first for me!! Tilda & Co challenge this week was Romance/Buckle: "....you could use a buckle for a ribbon slider, you could make a buckle from scratch as a closer on a card? or perhaps use an old belt buckle....." and the PTW challenge was Bloomin Gorgeous!: "...to use floral embellishments on your projects...." For this card I've used Tilda with her petticoats (as I call her!) and coloured her with Brushables and added glamour dust to her wings, belt and petticoats. She was then mounted onto Bazzill Bling c.s. I layered the actual card with the same c.s. and Karen Foster paper and then used some ribbon and diamante ribbon buckle from Ribbon Oasis, the flowers are from Bazzill and Poppicrafts and the brad is also from Poppicrafts. The sentiment is stamped strai...

New Stash and Tara's Blog Candy

Had a couple of parcels arrive yesterday and today from the States and look what was in them! My Prismas arrived after only about one week!! Can't wait to have a play with them, however, I see what Fran means now.....have to put them in some kind of order and sharpen them first!! Also, my Penny Blacks arrived from H M Stamps...they took a bit longer but were well worth the wait. What do you think Tara? They're so much cheaper!! Talking of Tara, she's got a blog candy competition on at the moment to make a baby card, so here's my entry. I just adore this image. It's from Stampin Bella and I coloured it with Brushables. The cardstock is Bazzill and the paper is Doodlebug. Ribbon is from Dovecraft and the word "Sweetpea" is made with my Quickutz. Brads are from Poppicrafts and the button is from Doodlebug as well. Sorry this is so rushed, however, we were late home tonight and have only just fed the boys and need to get them ready for bed.

One More Book!

Kimmie has got a whole load of challenges going on this week to celebrate her birthday! Challenge #1 was to alter something. Well, I was stood at my craft desk trying to work out what I could alter and the answer was staring me right in the face. I had made this accordian book in a box for Tony for Valentines Day and thought this might fit the bill! This is a picture of what it looked like before: I painted it with red acrylic paint and then used various papers including HOTP and Basic Grey. Alot of the embellishments are what I have accumulated over the years!! And this is what it looked like when I'd finished it! I must admit, I was really pleased with the result and plan on doing some more of these in the future. Will be back later to post a card.....it's been all go here at the moment with everyday stuff (got to go out again in an hour!) and have been up until Midnight most nights trying to catch up on my challenges ....think I'm beginning to get there!!

Red and White

Finally got around to completing the DCM challenge for this week, it is: "....this week we decided on a colour combination for a change. We want you to design a card using only red and white on your cards....." Papers are from Pink Petticoat, ribbon is from Dovecraft and Papermania sticky gems were also used. The image and sentiment are from Pink Cat Studio and was coloured with Marvy with a little Stickles added to the flower on her hat. Back to work now to try and catch up with the other challenges!

Family Roots

Fran has some blog candy up for grabs...it's to make something, other than a bog standard card using a stamped image. At the moment, I'm desperately trying to make a book for my Sister's 50th birthday and I've finally got around to making the actual book and cover. The inside will have photos of Gt Grandparents, Grandparents, etc., so thought I would enter the book as it is at the moment. I've used 8" x 8" covers and pages and put the book together with my Bind It All. The paper is from K & Co., and the stamped images are Magnolia's Tilda with a watering can and the winter tree. These have been coloured with watercolours and Brushables. The flowers are from Poppicrafts and the brads, metal "Family" label and sticky "Roots" letters are from my stash. I love making books and have made quite a few recently, however, now have to do the inside of this one - 20+ pages!!! Off out again today, but hope to load something else later.

All About Katy

Sorry, but this is going to be a very quick posting mainly because of the boys and their out of school commitments, so thought you might like to see the photos of a book I made my Niece, Katy, for her 30th birthday. The book came with it's own box, however, had to paint the whole lot before I could get started. You will see, if you look closely, that the lid of the box has a piece of acetate attached to it. This was used as a pocket to put the birthday card. Hope you like?

Jose's Birthday Card

Happy Sunday everyone! Wow, it's quiet here.....it's just before nine in the morning and the boys are still asleep so thought I would take this opportunity to load a card. This card is one I mentioned last week. I made it for my friend Jose but couldn't show it until she had opened it on her return from holiday. Anyway, she phoned me last night so I'm now able to post it!! I used two Rubadubadoo images for this one and coloured them with Brushables, then I cut out the children and 3D them onto the Punch and Judy image with foam pads. Paper is from Pink Petticoat, Ribbon is Dovecraft. The tag was handmade and the sentiment was stamped onto it, then I added a few Papermania sticky gems for a finishing touch. Haven't made anything for a little while because I've been caught up with the kids and housework so hope to produce some very soon.

Blog Candy Results!

Good morning everyone! Better day today weatherwise....the wind has calmed down a little and the sun is actually out BUT it's very cold - I don't mind that though, as long as it isn't raining! I started the day off with a smile because I got another award from my blogging buddy Denise......you're such a sweetie Denise! You should pop over to her blog and take a look (link on my sidebar) as she does some fabulous work and really is an inspiration to me. Before I announce the winner, I'd like to say a BIG thank you to all those who took part, I was in my element looking at all the craft spaces! They were amazing! Well, we managed to pick a winner without any tantrums from either Lewis or Sam, mainly because I promised them some "candy" of their own if they didn't argue about it!! So Sam agreed to hold the tin and Lewis picked out the winning name. You can see the anticipation on Sam's face lol! And the winner is................................... SA...
