AMD Samples - Our First Home

Here are another couple of samples from the Anna Marie Designs shows on Create and Craft this time using the blue Garden Blooms paper pad.

I started with the smaller frame and painted it in Viva Chalky paint and adhered a feature piece of paper in the back of the frame.  It's always best to do this first before sticking the frame together!  I then decorated the frame itself on the front and sides with a different paper from the blue collection.  (NB trace the front of the frame onto the paper of your choice before fixing the frame together.)  I inked the edges of the paper with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

I printed the sentiment onto the vellum from my computer and fixed it with glue dots to the feature paper.  I made sure that the glue dots would be hidden by further embellishments.  I fussy cut the three birds from another sheet of the paper and glued them in place with 3D glue gel, then I covered the two small frames and lamp post in inka gold and fixed them in place.  I added some die cut leaves and small flowers on top of the vellum to hide the glue dots.

I took a birdhouse and toadstool from the MDF embellishment kit and crackled it then added moss and berries to the floor of the frame with 3D glue gel and finally added the birdhouse and toadstool.

I then went to to make a matching New Home card...

I started with one of the top loading scalloped cards and added a layer of the blue double glitz cardstock, rounding the corners at the bottom.  I used the same design of paper I had used on the frame, again rounding the bottom corners and distressing the edges and then inking with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I printed the sentiment onto vellum from my computer and fixed this round the paper before sticking it to the base below.  I then fixed a piece of MDF fence which I had cut to size and crackled, to the bottom of the card and hid the glue with small flowers.  A blue bow made from raffia was added with a single rose and a couple of die cut leaves and finally, rubbed some glue gel around the edges and on the flowers and dusted with Crushed Ice.

For the inside, I cut one of the inserts down to size and layered onto blue glitz cardstock.

Week 2 of Techniques

It’s the second week of Tando’s FB Live and the tutorial was by Jane Royston. This week the colours are more my style. I didn’t have the exact supplies so had to improvise a little. This was the end result... I love doing these tutorials.  I put aside time for me on a Saturday morning and just get lost in the moment...all worries are forgotten for an hour or so.  I would highly recommend it.

Chocolate Somethings

Friday again and Half Term has started! The boys finished school yesterday so hopefully, we've got a fun day together! The challenge on Stamp Something this week is chocolate - everybody's favourite! and there's one stamp I turn to when that word is mentioned. I've followed the sketch on Mojo Monday for this card. The image is from Penny Black and has been coloured with Promarkers. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling and papers are Doodlebug. Matted the image onto some c.s. which has been run through the Cuttlebug and threaded some ribbon through using SU slot punch. Finally added a brad from my stash . A big thank you to Jose for helping me with my images......love the way some of you girls have been putting a sneak peek at the top of your posts and Jose was nice enough (and clever enough) to explain how to do it. Hope you all have a great weekend.
