AMD Samples - Bird on Branch Card

I'm very late posting these samples!  A little while ago, being part of the Design Team for Anna Marie Designs, I had to provide samples for four shows on Create and Craft - this was very exciting for me as I've never had my work shown on TV before.

This is the first sample I am showing today.  All the products used are from Anna Marie Designs, just click on the links and it should take you to the product in the shop.

I started with an 8" x 8" Mont Blanc card blank and added a couple of layers of the different papers from the new Garden Bloom 12" x 12" pink pad, roughing up the edges and inking them with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I then added more layers with scraps of the same paper pad and the Garden Bloom tags and postcards in the same colour, again inking the edges.

Before assembling the card I took a few of AMD small MDF shapes, namely, a branch, lovebird, birdhouse and sentiment tag.  I covered the bird in Ceramic Effect and then added Crushed Ice.  I painted the birdhouse in a dark grey Viva Chalky paint, then a layer of Viva Crackle Medium and finally a layer of Viva White Chalky paint.  With the branch I inked it with Gathered Twigs distress ink (any ink will do) and edged the sentiment tag in the same way.

I die cut some flowers from the Garden Bloom pad.  I used my own die however, Anna Marie now has her own set of dies available here.  Again, I inked all the edges and shaped them and then layered them on top of one another, adding micro beaded berries in the centre.  I made a large loose bow from pink twine and then arranged it all on the card and adhered it all with Pinflair Glue Gel.  This gives dimension and allows you time to move items if you are not happy with their positioning.  Finally, I scraped a thin layer of glue gel around the edges of the card and on the flowers and covered with Crushed Ice.

For the finishing touch, I added one of the Garden Bloom Inserts to the inside of the card.

I've Been Busy!!!

It's funny what happens to me when I lose my internet connection so I can't do any blogging.........I end up doing some crafting!!!! Well that's what happened yesterday afternoon and evening....my internet connection kept flicking on and off probably due to all the bad weather we experienced. Not quite so windy today but the rain is continuous! I actually finished my Easter Egg bags yesterday whoo hoo!!! Well, I say finished, I've got three more to put together but I have coloured the label and everything but I need to go to Asda and buy some more creme eggs and I'm not going anywhere today because I'm due a parcel delivery....hopefully, my camera! I hope you're ready for these photos....I was just going to put one picture on but thought hey, I had to suffer making them, they should suffer looking at them!!! The photos aren't very good I'm afraid and I'm proud to say that not one chocolate egg was harmed during the making of these bags......in ot...

Week 2 of Techniques

It’s the second week of Tando’s FB Live and the tutorial was by Jane Royston. This week the colours are more my style. I didn’t have the exact supplies so had to improvise a little. This was the end result... I love doing these tutorials.  I put aside time for me on a Saturday morning and just get lost in the moment...all worries are forgotten for an hour or so.  I would highly recommend it.
