Stitch Me Up!

Back again with my second and final card of the day. Loo is still not fixed but my brother is coming over tomorrow to take a look and see if he can sort it out temporarily until Plumber comes early next week! Right, on to business. The challenge on Tilda & Co., this week (just in again by the skin of my teeth!) is..... "We would love to see your work involve stitches!!! Now this could be as simple as hand stitching, machine stitching, or even faux stitching....." Decided to use the Teddy from Magnolia and coloured him with Brushables. Added a sentiment from the Just Hatched set from Papertrey Ink. Dark blue c.s. is Bazzill Bling and lighter blue c.s. is also Bazzill, with the small panel run through the Cuttlebug with the Hearts embossing folder. Stitches on outer edge of card are Doodlebug rub-ons as is the button. Ribbon is from Dovecraft, eyelets and ribbon (through eyelets) are from my stash. Tiny sticky gems are from Papermania. Off to put the boys to bed now an...

Look at this little beauty...... .....this is what Katharina is offering for entering her blog candy competition, and it's so easy and everyone has an equal chance of winning. Annie's Birthday Candy

It has not been a good day!! The toilet won't flush and have spent most of the morning trying to get hold of a Plumber and pouring buckets of water down the loo to flush it....I just didn't realise how often my boys spent a penny.......and the rest!! Managed to actually get a couple of cards made this afternoon and this is the first one. Annie of Ink 'n' Rubba celebrated her birthday last week and is offering some fabulous birthday blog candy. All you have to do is make a girly birthday card with flowers on it and pretty papers. The stamp is from Whipper Snapper and I've coloured it with Brushables and added some Glamour Dust to her belt and hairband. The pink c.s. is from Bazzill and the papers are the Sugar Dumpling range from Blonde Moments. Also used some mirricard from my stash. Sentiment is from Woodware, flower is from W H Smiths and brad and sticky gems are from Papermania. Will be back later with my other offering!!

RAKS AND MORE AWARDS!!!

Where is the time going? I just seem so busy at the moment with hardly any time for crafting or blogging and I can't work out why......the kids are back at school so I should have more time to myself but it all seems to be taken up with housework and appointments.....BORING!!! I'm way behind with my challenges and with visiting everyone's blogs, so thought I would say b****** to the housework and start by saying thank you to all you lovely ladies out there who have been sending me things in one form or another. Firstly to my RAKs I have received over the last couple of days......The following is from my SBS-13 Sister Heather . We did a card swap and she sent me two beautiful cards and some scrummy stamped images of Bella!! Thank you Heather, the cards are great and the Bellas are fab! Another really generous blogging buddy of mine is Dawn who sent me a package filled with the new Billy images from Pink Cat Studio and some lovely embellishments. I wasn't having a ve...

SBS-13

This is a call for all the SBS-13 Sisters who are taking part in the card swap. The majority of replies received wanted to do a single card swap so Vanessa and I will be sorting out the names and e-mailing each of you separately with your Swap Sister's details. Hopefully, you should receive this e-mail tomorrow. You can make any card you want, no theme allocated as we want to break you all in gently!!!! Just to clarify matters, no swap list has been e-mailed to the Sisters taking part, this was the Birthday List which I hope you all received. If you are taking part in the Birthday List and haven't received these details, please e-mail me a.s.a.p. As there is an odd number of Sisters taking part in the card swap, does anyone fancy having two partners? Please let us know a.s.a.p. as we can't send out the details until this is sorted. Thanks for your patience!! Just to let you know that Jo (Fairymadjo) and Angie will be arranging the next swap.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

As promised, I'm back with some cards to show you. It's a busy day for me today so this may seem a bit rushed! The challenge on CCT this week is...... "Planes, trains and automobiles...but of course, we wouldn't restrict you to just those vehicles, absolutely any mode of transport is allowed!....." I think I may have got a bit carried away with this challenge as I've done three cards! I probably would have done more but time caught up with me. Anyway, when I looked at the finished cards, I realised I've made them in my favourite colours - red and teal/turquoise!! It wasn't intentional....it's just funny how I'm drawn to those colours. I must admit, it was a bit weird making Christmas cards in April.....must have been the snow at the weekend getting me in the mood!! For this card, I used Pink Petticoat designs printed onto lightweight c.s., with the plain piece embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder. The image is Christmas Rid...

Whose A Lucky Girl!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately....had so much to do and miles behind with my challenges. Anyway, managed to make a couple of cards today but the light is too bad to photograph them tonight so will post them tomorrow. In the meantime, I wanted to share a lovely package I received a few days ago from my good friend Denise. First of all I got this gorgeous card...... ....and there was also this fabulous folder....... Wow, lots of images for me to play with. Plus, there was a set of SU stamps!!...sorry there's no photo but I rushed them upstairs to my craft desk to mount them ready to play with them and forgot to take a picture!!! How generous is that!!! Thank you so much Denise....I really do appreciate it and even though I've never met you, you've become a really good friend of mine over the past couple of months and I love exchanging news and views with you. Besides that, you're so talented and really inspire me with your work. Will be back tomorrow with so...

Shrink To Fit

Snow in Weymouth?......Never!!! but it did happen albeit very briefly! I couldn't believe my eyes when I got up at 8.00 am this morning.....big flakes of snow falling quite heavily, however, it didn't get a chance to settle as the sun started to come out and it was gone. Only in England can we have a snow storm one minute and brilliant sunshine the next!!! I must apologise to everyone as I've been really busy over the last few days and haven't had a chance to go blog hopping. Besides the usual boring housework stuff, I've actually sorted out alot of my craft supplies including putting my card in colour order, and my paper too. Also sorted out my ribbons and some embellishments. However, my next job is to sort my brads into colour order which I'm dreading but which will make things alot easier in the long run. I'm hoping to catch up on my blogging over the next couple of days as the boys go back to school tomorrow......yippee!!! Thought I would have a go at ...

My "Grown Up" Card!

Good morning....or should I see nearly afternoon! We've all had a proper lie in this morning and we all needed it I can tell you! We had a great day out yesterday visiting my friend Jose and her family but by the time we got home, we were all very tired so we gave Tae Kwon-do a miss and just chilled out. Didn't realise how tired we were until we woke up at 11.00 am this morning!! I'm now able to show the card and small gift I made for Jose....it was a late Easter present. Most of my cards are "cute" ones and I don't actually own many "grown up" stamps, so I am gradually rectifying this and recently bought this Penny Black Wind Caressed stamp. I coloured it with Prismas and Sansodor and added a little glamour dust to the centres of the flowers. Cardstock is from Bazzill and paper is Laura Ashley. The light blue c.s. panel has been embossed with the Script Texture Cuttlebug embossing folder and a sentiment from Dovecraft stamped straight onto it. Ribbo...

Yet More Red!!

Me and the boys are off to Yeovil today to see my good friend Jose so thought I would post this quick card before we go. This is one on a similar theme to a couple I did earlier in the week where I got the idea from Zoe . It's that bunny again!!! but he is a favourite of mine....have you guessed that yet?!!! I've used a bigger card this time and layered it with red Bazzill c.s. and white c.s. embossed with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder. The image has been stamped onto a separate piece of white c.s. and coloured with Brushables and scored at the top and bottom to give a raised effect. The sentiment is from the Just Hatched set from Papertrey Ink. Finally, used some red organza ribbon from my stash and some sticky gems from Papermania. I also received the Arte Y Pico Award again, this time from my buddy Jackie! I'm so chuffed ....that's six times now......I do have some wonderful blogging buddies out there. Haven't got time to list all the details Jackie,...

"Easily Distracted"

I don't know if any of you are like me......you start out with all the best intentions but then get distracted and end up doing something totally different. Well this happened on Tuesday....I'd been to Craft Central a few days before and bought some small craft storage and then went into my room yesterday with the intention of sorting my card into colour order because it's got a bit messy lately and also putting my brads into some sort of colour order. I also have a big box of stuff that I needed to find a home for. So, I start sorting through and whilst going through one storage box, find a Sara File and all the paper inserts. Well, needless to say, that's where all the sorting and storing stopped!!! I've had the Sara File for three years approx and done nothing with it when it goes through my head "I've got the perfect paper for that"! So this is what I ended up making.... This is the side view....... .......the oversized paperclip...... and finall...

Check It Out!

Back again! The challenge on Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge is to use checks on your work in whatever form you like. Couldn't make up my mind which image to use this week, so I did two!! I've used the first ever Tilda I bought (one of my favourites), paper pieced her top and coloured her with Prismas and Sansodor. I added glamour dust to her wings and some glaze pen to her shoes. I also used the steps coloured again with Prismas and Sansodor. Tilda has been placed on the steps with foam pads to 3D her. Paper and c.s. are scraps from my stash, flower is from Sir Stampalot and sticky gems are Papermania. Sentiment is from Woodware. Now for the second one...... I've used the same scraps of paper and cardstock for this one but used the Magnolia teddy. Coloured him with Prismas and Sansodor and paperpieced the pads on his paws, the heart, inside of his ears and his patch (very fiddly I can tell you!!). Brads are from my stash, sentiment is from Autumn Leaves and flower is from ...

Some Lovely Post!

Have received some lovely cards and things over the last few days from my blogging buddies and wanted to share them with you. First off is this really cute folder from Jo containing some embellishments and stamped images. Then, I received this beautiful card from Claudia..... .....a Thank You card from Jackie for some images I sent her.... And last but by no means least this folder from Lilian with a Magnolia stamp I purchased from her. Thank you ladies....they're all gorgeous!!

Some More Red!!

Thought I would get a quick posting in as I'm out for most of the morning and some of the afternoon today. The cards I have made recently were inspired by Zoe , she is new to blogging but someone I have known through DoCrafts and her cards are fabulous! Saw her latest designs and thought I would have a go myself :) I've used an image from Pink Cat Studio and coloured it with Marvy with a little glamour dust on her glasses....the sentiment is also from PCS. The card has been layered with red Bazzill c.s. and some white c.s. which has been run through the Cuttlebug with the circles embossing folder. The c.s. which the image is on has been embossed on the top and bottom and finally three sticky gems from Papermania have been added to the bottom of the card. Very simple but I think it makes the card look fresh and quite elegant! Will have more to share later when I'm back home....hope you all have a good Wednesday :)
