Simple Somethings

I can't believe it's Friday already - where has the week gone? Seem to have had so much to do this week and no time for crafting. Did manage to go to the Bonfire Night celebrations on Weymouth Beach on Wednesday and took the kids to the funfair and had a great time. Have also been busy with my college work and yet again, I'm behind with my blogging - slap wrists!!

Back to business - the challenge on Stamp Something this week is to keep it simple - one layer of cardstock. Well, my cards are always simple (bit like me lol!) but I do like my layers so I have cheated just a little by layering the image, however, there is only one sheet of c.s. on the actual card - must be a first for me! (Oops, have just checked out the other DT Members' creations whilst writing this and think I've cheated big time - sorry!)

The image is from Spiral Whisper and has been coloured with Promarkers with Glamour Dust added to her hat and sleeves (yes, it's a she!). The sentiment is part of a stamp from Snag 'em. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling which has been run through the Cuttlebug with Snowflakes embossing folder. Flowers are part of the Poppicrafts Christmas collection and sparkly brad is from my stash. Finally, used an SU punch to round all corners.

We are celebrating our six month birthday on Stamp Something and there is some fabulous candy on offer this week so well worth having a go!

Sometimes cheating is fun and in this case, I love the way cheating makes this card great! Too cute! The embossing looks fabby and the accents are perfect. And no worries about cheating, if I'd been smarter, I'd of done it too! I have such a hard time with simple! Have a great weekend Jo, talk soon. :)

totally love the colours you have picked for this card Jo they are stunning ! love it !
Darling card...and I was thrilled that you had added one more sheet. I was about to write you and ask how you got that smooth space in the middle of an embossed background. I'm so relieved that I don't have to try and learn something new!! I always enjoy your cards.

My Surprise For Tony!!

As promised, I'm back to let you in on my surprise for Tony tomorrow! Don't know where to start with this but maybe a little personal history first. When I married Tony in 1996 I was a UK size 14. I've always had to watch my weight and never been naturally thin but was never vastly overweight either. In March 1997 I fell pregnant with Lewis and that's when the trouble started.....the weight piled on and after he was born as well because I wasn't eating properly and just grabbing food out of the fridge when I had a spare five minutes.....oh, the joys of being a new Mum! Then I got pregnant again with Sam and even though I didn't gain much more weight during pregnancy, I made up for it afterwards! Am I boring you yet! It took me ten years and many failed diets to finally get serious about losing weight so I started my diet in January this year and this is the evidence....... please do not show the first photo to small children or animals as it may scare them !!!!!...
