Back to Basics

I needed to make a quick Easter card this morning for my MIL as we will be visiting her this afternoon. Unfortunately, she will be spending Easter in hospital as she has pneumonia so get well soon Sheila!

Wanted to keep this one as simple as possible to try and achieve an elegant effect so went right back to basics and must admit I'm pleased with the result as I do like the clean and simple effect.

The image is called Close as A Memory from SU and I've stamped it in Bashful Blue ink and used a co-ordinating cardstock from SU. Added some sparkle on the flowers with my Sakura glitter pen and a greeting from Woodware. Cut and embossed the image with my rectangular Nesties and then embossed the plain white c.s. with a Cuttlebug strip embossing folder. Finally, added some Doodlebug striped ribbon and a couple of Bazzill brads.

Not sure how much I'm going to be around this week as I've got some important things to sort out once the Easter holidays are over so hope you all have a lovely weekend.

My Surprise For Tony!!

As promised, I'm back to let you in on my surprise for Tony tomorrow! Don't know where to start with this but maybe a little personal history first. When I married Tony in 1996 I was a UK size 14. I've always had to watch my weight and never been naturally thin but was never vastly overweight either. In March 1997 I fell pregnant with Lewis and that's when the trouble started.....the weight piled on and after he was born as well because I wasn't eating properly and just grabbing food out of the fridge when I had a spare five minutes.....oh, the joys of being a new Mum! Then I got pregnant again with Sam and even though I didn't gain much more weight during pregnancy, I made up for it afterwards! Am I boring you yet! It took me ten years and many failed diets to finally get serious about losing weight so I started my diet in January this year and this is the evidence....... please do not show the first photo to small children or animals as it may scare them !!!!!...
