I was asked to make this card recently by a friend of a friend and unfortunately, it has a rather sad story. The lady in question had seen my cards I've made before and wanted a "special" birthday card for her 5 year old Grandson's birthday who very sadly, is no longer with us. She had specific instructions - she wanted one similar to the larger cards I've made and it had to have his name, a star and the date of his birthday on it. It was not to be morbid - it had to have "Happy Birthday" in it (which it does inside), and she had a protective case for it so she could put it on his grave. I was a little taken aback when I received this request but felt quite honoured (if that's the right choice of word) that she wanted one of my cards for this occasion. Needless to say, this card was made with a lot of love and care. All products used were from Anna Marie Designs apart from the dies for the bunting and numbers.

(1) My counter has passed 16,000 hits - wow! can't believe that! and I would like to say thank you to everyone who visits my blog.....would never have dreamed I would have so many visitors since I began blogging at the beginning of December last year! (2) It's my birthday in just over a week and (3) had some fantastic news - Tony (my husband) is coming home for good!! For those of you who don't know, Tony has been working in Australia for the past 15 months and we have only seen him twice in that time.....the last time being at the beginning of October last year! He should be home within a matter of weeks - he's given me the date of 10 June but
