Something a Little Different

Promised to post these photos ages ago when I completed the room, however, better late than never!

This used to be my dining room and it used to be terracotta! I saw some ideas in Ideal Home magazine a while back and immediately liked it but thought "ooh, this is going to be expensive", however, then saw the magic word "Ikea" and off I went!

The wallpaper I got in the sale at Laura Ashley a few years back and all the furniture apart from the tall book shelf, is Ikea - got the tall book shelf from a local pine shop. All the other bits and pieces I've collected over the last 12/18 months. The larger drawers are absolutely ideal for storing wooden rubber stamps and punches and the tall CD/DVD units are perfect for my unmounted stamps and Nesties which I keep in CD cases.

It's maybe not to everyone's taste but I absolutely love the lightness of the room and all the "vintage shabby chic" bits.

** Just had a closer look at the photos and noticed my socks on the desk...whoops! **

lovely. I would so like a dining room so I could steal it for my craft room :)

My SIL put the idea in my head Caz as we have a conservatory off the lounge which wasn't being used for anything in particular, so I decorated it and turned it into the dining room and then decorated the old dining room and turned it into my craft room!

Your craft room is gorgeous. I have our dining room as a craft room and we had to have a conservatory built to house the dining table etc lol

My Surprise For Tony!!

As promised, I'm back to let you in on my surprise for Tony tomorrow! Don't know where to start with this but maybe a little personal history first. When I married Tony in 1996 I was a UK size 14. I've always had to watch my weight and never been naturally thin but was never vastly overweight either. In March 1997 I fell pregnant with Lewis and that's when the trouble started.....the weight piled on and after he was born as well because I wasn't eating properly and just grabbing food out of the fridge when I had a spare five minutes.....oh, the joys of being a new Mum! Then I got pregnant again with Sam and even though I didn't gain much more weight during pregnancy, I made up for it afterwards! Am I boring you yet! It took me ten years and many failed diets to finally get serious about losing weight so I started my diet in January this year and this is the evidence....... please do not show the first photo to small children or animals as it may scare them !!!!!...
