Winter Wonderland

Well, this is a first for me today…I've always admired the "cluttered" type of cards but never managed to pluck up the courage to have a go, that is, until today. I've had a Magnolia stamp for a couple of years now which I always thought was cute so decided to put Edwin to the test! I coloured him with Promarkers and no, he isn't that suntanned in real life!  Used some flowersoft for his hat and then die cut him with a Spellbinders die and inked the edges.  Covered the shaped card (another first for me!) with Magnolia paper and added a couple more bits which had been distressed around the edges.  Then added all the bits - webbing, bobble ribbon, snowflake dies and Christmas tree dies, all covered in glitter and stickles!  Finally, used an old sentiment from Studio G and again added a bit of ink and glitter around the edges.  Must admit, was quite pleased with the result. I'm entering this card in the CCT challenge "Dies and Punches...

Black and White

Good Morning to anyone that continues to read my blog!   Today's submission is a card a friend asked me to make - she wanted one for a girl who liked to shop, especially for shoes. Used an image which I was given some years ago from Rubber Romance and decided to keep it as it was with no colouring.  Base card is made up with black cardstock and a white piece which has been embossed with the Sue Wilson Heart Lattice embossing folder.  Used a Tonic punch to make the band underneath the image and a Darkroom Door string sentiment.  Made a bow with some silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and added some silver and black voile, a black dazzler and some black sticky gems. Entering this in The Ribbon Girl challenge which is to add ribbons.

A Combination

A friend of mine had seen the Christmas cards I've been making lately and asked if I could make her two special cards so decided to stay on the same kind of theme but mix the images and layouts up a little and this is what I came up with. This time I opted for the Santa image which has been heat embossed to give him a sparkle and I die cut him using the Tonic Royal Frame as this was the largest one I had to fill the 8" x 8" card.  The base of the card is layered with mirricard and plain white cardstock embossed with my favourite Sue Wilson embossing folder.  Used silver mesh ribbon from The Ribbon Girl across the card and also to make the bow which I finished with an SU large flat backed pearl.  Sentiment is from Pink Petticoat cut with a Spellbinders label die then finally, punched out some snowflakes (Martha Stewart) and covered them with glitter and then added a sparkly gem to the centres and to some of the frame. I'm entering this card in the Pa...

Oh Christmas Tree!

I'm really into 'pretty' cards at the moment with bows and sparkle, especially in white/silver so here's another one I was experimenting with. I've heat embossed the main image in silver and added some piercing around it.  I've layered the main card with mirricard and plain white card stock which has been embossed with my favourite Sue Wilson embossing folder (can't get enough of this one at the moment!) and added some sparkly silver mesh ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and also made a big bow out of it with a large gem from SU.  Snowflakes are made from a Martha Stewart punch and then dipped in glitter with more little gems added to their centres and finally, printed off a sentiment from Pink Petticoat and die cut it with a Spellbinders die.
