Another Award and Something Different!!

Good evening....sorry I haven't posted earlier but have been catching up on my sleep after Lewis' sleepover last night....they were still awake at 3.30 am!!! Good job we didn't have anything planned for today....I've learned my lesson from the last time he had a sleepover!! I had some nice news this afternoon....I've received the Arte Y Pico Award again!! Wow, five times now!! This time it was from Jilli . Thank you so much Jilli, it really is appreciated and I am always very grateful and surprised by people who nominate me. Well, when I finally awoke from my little nap, decided to do something quick and new for me which I've seen on a couple of blogs. This is the front view....... and this is the back view...... I was so surprised at how easy these candles are to make and how quick!! I've used Elzybells stamps and the main image has been coloured with Brushables. They were stamped with Stazon onto tissue paper and then "fixed" to a plain can

CCT Challenge - People

A nice wet, windy and cold Saturday morning! and to top it all, I've got one of Lewis's friends coming over for a sleepover today....why oh why do I agree to these things!! Got a feeling they will be awake most of the night so it will give me a chance to catch up on my blogging Back to the crafting.....the challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week is People which made me think I can tell you! I had to rummage through all my stamps to try and find one to use and discovered my Bellas - I've only got four and am ashamed to say have only ever used one of them since buying them before Christmas!!! Anyway, am now proud to say, that two of them of been inked up and used!!!! Sorry the photo isn't so good but took it late yesterday afternoon and it was so dark here with all the rain. I've used Bubblebella and coloured her with Marvy and added a glaze pen to the tub to try and make it look like enamel. Have also used Stickles for the bubbles. Have layered her onto Bazzill

QKD Blog

Nearly forgot all about this until this evening but I've been featured on Queen Kat Designs Blog . I was approached by them a little while ago and did have an e-mail to confirm the date but "filed it". Anyway pop on over and take a look because there are some very creative people featured on there.

Katharina's Sketch Challenge

Katharina has produced a sketch challenge on her blog and thought I would have a go at it. It did take me a while to arrange all the pieces as I'm so used to producing very simple (like me!!) layouts. Anyway, this is what I came up with...... and this is the actual sketch...... I've coloured Tilda with Prismas and Sansodor and added glamour dust to her wings, petticoat and the centre of the flowers. Cardstock is Bazzill and mirricard, papers are from Blonde Moments, ribbon is from Little Silver Hat, charm brad is from Papermania and sentiment is from Woodware. Hoping to get out a bit later as the weather has been awful this morning......pouring with rain and very windy.....good job I actually got off my bottom and mowed the lawn yesterday. However, the rain seems to have stopped now and the sun is starting to appear from behind the clouds.....thank goodness!!! Just another reminder for all my SBS-13 Sisters to read the post below.....come on girls, have a bit of fun and jo

Another Award and I'm Expecting!!!

I've received a You Make My Day Award from my pal Tara , thank you so much Tara and sorry it's taken me a little while to put on my blog but slipped behind a bit and am now catching up. In turn, I'd like to pass this on to three ladies who make my day...... Denise whose friendship I really enjoy and look forward to our e-mails, Fran who not only is a great crafter but also makes me giggle and last but by no means least, Vanessa , my partner in crime in the "B Team"!!! She knows what I mean!! Sue at Slumber Cards is offering some blog candy and all you have to do is enter a photo of your favourite Spring tree or Spring plants in your garden. Well, I actually went out and tidied our garden today and mowed the lawn and thought it was a bit bare because the daffodils are dying off now and then I noticed my pride and joy......my New Zealand Tree Fern (or that's what I think it's called) and it's having babies which means Spring must be here!! This plant

Blue and Yellow

Good morning everyone and what a beautiful day it is down here in Sunny Dorset....yes sunny!! No rain but brilliant sunshine...it makes such a nice change! Only trouble is, I'm looking at the garden and thinking it really needs a tidy up and the lawn is in real need of cutting! Anyway, let's forget the lawn for a moment and talk about the challenge on Tilda & Friends ATC blog!! This week it's.... "....the inspiration for the ATCs this week is taken from the colours of the Swedish Flag, the home of Magnolia stamps...." Kept this one simple and decided not to wander from the blue and yellow. I made the sky with an ink pad and tore some blue paper from my scrap box to create the "foam" on the top of the waves. The sun was coloured with Prismas and Sansodor and then glamour dust was added to the whole image. I cut it out and then stuck it to the top of the ATC, trimming off some of the edges. The Tilda image is one I bought over the last couple of weeks

PTW - Sketch Challenge

Early start for me this morning as I'll be out for most of the day but the day has started well....the boys are in a good mood and no arguing so far!!! The challenge on PTW this week is a sketch from Katharina and I really enjoyed this one. ....and surprisingly enough I've used green! Can you believe it - all the times I've moaned about green but I bought some new Laura Ashley papers and they've really inspired me! Here's the boring bit! Coloured Tilda with Prismas and Sansodor and added glamour dust to her wings, petticoat and bunch of flowers. Cardstock is Bazzill and paper is from Laura Ashley. Ribbon is from Little Silver Hat, sentiment is Woodware and charm brad is from Papermania.

Tilda & Co Template Challenge

As promised, I'm back with a card to show. We're all showered and dressed and Sam is ready to go to a bowling party so thought I would quickly post this card. It's not like me to complete this challenge so early.....I usually leave it to last thing Saturday night/Sunday morning lol!! The challenge this week on Tilda & Co is a sketch challenge.....they have some candy on offer this week so well worth a look. Here's the sketch..... ......and here's my interpretation of it....... I've coloured Tilda with Prismas and Sansodor and added glamour dust to her wings, petticoat and flower in her hair. I then cut her out and fixed her with foam pads to the background which I made with my Nestabilities small rectangles and Bazzill c.s. Have used Bazzill c.s. again for the background together with paper from the Papermania Venetian Skies pad. The strips at the top are again Navy Bazzill c.s. with Doodlebug rub-ons and flower eyelets from my stash. The flowers are also fr

RAK

Good morning everyone and even though the sun is out and there's no sign of rain, what a chaotic morning it's turning into! It's now gone Midday and we are all still in our PJ's! The dishwasher broke down this morning and it's only five months' old so I've spent most of the morning trying to get through to Hotpoint to arrange for an Engineer to call.....six phone calls later and I've actually got an appointment! for next Tuesday - yikes, that means I've actually got to wash up by hand until then!!! Just to top it all, the boys have been fighting and arguing and I've got a splitting headache. Oh well, the day can only get better and saying that, it actually improved because the Postman brought me a lovely RAK from Fran . Isn't it gorgeous?! and look what was inside....... Fran sent me a card a little while ago with one of these images on it and I mentioned how I liked them. They're Rakle stamps and wasn't that so sweet of her! Thanks s

All Creatures Great and Small

I am a plank sometimes! I thought I had another card to load! This one is for Bea's 50,000 hit blog candy and also for the CCT challenge. Bea makes beautiful cards and to celebrate 50,000 hits, she is offering up some blog candy. All you have to do is make a card with pink in it. On CCT, the challenge this week is: "....we would like to see some creatures on your cards...." I've used a Penny Black image and coloured with Brushables. I've added Stickles to the icing on the cake and liquid applique to the top of the candle to give the effect of melting wax. The image has been layered onto mirricard. I've used paper from Blonde Moments layered onto mirricard and pink Bazzill c.s. and fixed this to the base card. Have run some more pink Bazzill c.s. through the Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots embossing folder and attached some pink grosgrain ribbon across the bottom. This was then fixed to the card and the image attached with foam pads. Flower was from W H Smiths and b

And Finally.....One From Me!

Fourth post of the day...must be a record for me! There was so much that I needed to catch up with on my blog and I still haven't visited all the other blogs yet but I think I'll leave that until later when the boys are in bed and in the meantime, sit down with Sam (Lewis has gone out with a friend, popping in briefly for some chocolate!) and watch him devour his huge stack of Easter Eggs!! The challenge on PTW this week is "Weather With You!". "....anything associated with the weather, whatever your interpretation!. Under the weather, fun in the sun? Wind? Rain?....." For this one, I hooked out a Penny Black stamp I've only ever used once before. I coloured it with Brushables and layered it on Pink Petticoat card. The paper is also Pink Petticoat printed onto lightweight c.s. Added some ribbon from Little Silver Hat and the sentiment was from Craftwork Cards with two sticky gems from Papermania.

What a Great Easter!

Back again! Had some good news a couple of days' ago.....I've been featured on the Inspirational blog! My good friend Jose put my card forward so thanks very much Jose :) It's definitely worth having a look at the blog because there are some wonderful creations there. Also wanted to share some of the Easter cards and gifts we've received. This is the card I received from Jose and also two folders she made for the boys with some money in them......they were well impressed! Next is a card I received from my SBS-13 Sister, Vanessa: Then, we received a package yesterday from the States. This was from my good friend Denise and her family. Unfortunately I wasn't able to photograph all the contents because she included colouring books, crayons, stickers and toys which the boys grabbed from me straight away! I managed to photograph the cards we all received and the scrummy chocolate! Now to the boys! This is Sam's card he made for me and his Easter chick he made at sch

I've Been Tagged!

Happy Easter everyone and hope you're having a relaxing Sunday! I've got quite a few things to post today so I'm going to get on with things while I've got a spare five minutes. Heather tagged me a little while ago and have only just got around to posting it.....sorry Heather but here goes! Rules: Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules to your blog; share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them; Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs; Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. I absolutely LOVE custard, always have and probably always will and will gladly sit down with a spoon and eat it cold out of the carton. I detest mustard! When I was quite small my Mum was laying the table for dinner and put a pot of Mustard on it along with the cutlery etc. Now to see if you have been paying attention! Remember I said I loved custard?...

Marlene's Blog Candy

As promised I'm back, albeit a little late, but I've actually had an opportunity to make a few cards today and catch up on some of the challenges. I've got one to post tonight but will have to photograph the others tomorrow morning in the daylight. This card is for Marlene's blog candy....she's got some wonderful candy on offer and to take part, all you have to do is make a card in her favourite colour green, using some ribbon. Now, I have to admit that I am really out of my comfort zone using green.....don't know why, but I try to avoid it if I can. Because of this, I've kept the card very simple and in fact, based my previous card for Tilda & Co., on this one. For this card, I've used Edwin sat on his pencil again, coloured with Prismas and Sansodor with glamour dust on his wings. He has been cut and embossed with Nestabilities and a Woodware sentiment stamped underneath him. I've used Pink Petticoat olive green designs printed onto lightwei

Hidden Secrets

The challenge this week on Tilda & Co is:- "....must have a hidden message on your project, perhaps pull out journalling maybe? A hidden flap?, a slider, something where a message can be hidden away from the public eye....." I nearly didn't bother with this challenge as I thought it was too complicated and would take me too long, but then had a re-think and came up with something really simple. The image of Edwin sat on his pencil is coloured with Prismas and Sansodor with a little glamour dust added to his wings. I've used my Nestabilities to cut him out with his background and mounted him onto Pink Petticoat c.s. with foam pads. The "just for you" sentiment is from Woodware and the "Totally Special" sentiment is Autumn Leaves. Photo anchors and brads are from my stash. Phew! just made it by the skin of my teeth as a new challenge is set tomorrow! Will be back soon with another card and to share some good news I had today. Also to say t

Chocolate Creations and Treats!

Tilda & Friends ATC challenge this week is:- "....It's that time of year when the shelves in the shops are full of Easter Eggs of all sizes from those easy to pop into the mouth mini eggs to some very large and incredibly high caloried creations! So I've taken inspiration from them all and challenge you to a CHOCOLATE CREATION!.." Tilda has been coloured with Prismas and Sansodor with some Glamour Dust added to her wings (of course!). The paisley and stripe papers are from Doodlebug (one of my favourite sets at the moment!) and the plain shimmery paper is from Craftwork Cards as are the sentiment card and the little chocolate chips.

Carrot Gardens

Well school has now officially finished for the Easter holidays and I've got two tired, but very excited boys! Been extremely busy today with one thing and another but just wanted to share the carrot gardens I made for Lewis and Sam which I managed to finish today. I got this idea from Lauren who is one seriously talented lady! When I first saw this on her blog, I knew I just had to have a go. I did have to improvise on some parts because I didn't have all the supplies which she used but I'm still really pleased with the results......and so are my boys! Trouble is, I don't want them to touch them....I think I'll make them eat them last out of all their Easter goodies!! The items I used were: Blank Egg Boxes and Just Hatched stamp set from Papertrey Ink; Hero Arts Box of Dots stamps; Certainly Celery c.s., Apricot Appeal c.s., Certainly Celery wide grosgrain ribbon, Certainly Celery narrow grosgrain ribbon from Stampin Up, various inkpads from Create & Craft, d
